I was wondering how many Aspies here have a family member with food allergies (hives, anaphylaxis, etc.). Thanks.

There are many allergies in my family and yes with our brand of asd I think they're related. But I think there are other kinds too.

I'm pretty sure I have Oral Allergy Syndrome

It does explain why eating raw apples causes my throat and gums to itch and swell.

I am allergic to Lavender. Yes, this is a food allergy as it is in the Herb Mixture Herb de Provence. This is used in some italian cookin and Italian sausage. I miss Italian sausage. :(

I have an intolerance - as opposed to an allergy - to milk. I won't have a life-threatening allergic reaction if I eat dairy products, but I will get stomach/bowel discomfort and diarrhoea.

This has slowly developed later in my life; I used to be fine with dairy when I was younger.

No blood relatives with a real food allergy. My brother is celiac, but he is adopted. I have some intolerances but no true allergies have shown up on blood tests.

I have celiac, but no one else in my family has food allergy. My mom has seasonal allergies, though.

Not sure if it's allergy relate but...

Dairy especially milk gives me a runny nose and tiredness.
Corn chips hurt my throat.
Orange juice gives me stomach ache. Not just discomfort, really bad cramps.
Wheat makes me itchy.
Beer makes me fall over. :P

I had an episode of idiopathic anaphylaxis a few years ago.

Walnuts give me swollen gums and an itchy throat, but when I was tested, my reaction was only "borderline".
