I have seen an article or two. He has an amazing technical skill but there's more to being an artist than that. His power of recall truly is astounding, I don't mean to discount him.

Yes, I have been familiar with Stephen and his work for a long time. He has opened his own gallery in London and I visited there once. He wasn't there on the day I went. I really like his work and would love to be that talented. More about Stephen at www.stephenwiltshire.co.uk

"The Human Camera"

He is a savant- I was astounded when I saw him working on the giant drawing of Rome- a huge panorama that he drew with a Sharpee style marker- no pencils or erasers.

Oh my god. Yes, I love him. He's the true definition of savant, imo. He's one of the few examples I can cite in those "is autism a superpower" discussions ahahahahaha.

Not quite like a camera -- he does draw things slightly different than they are. But closer than most of us will ever get.

His drawing style strongly reminds me of the guy who drew Urville.

Yes,I cited the name of the program I was watching, "The Human Camera". I should have been clearer- sorry!

I agree. He has an amazing memory, I was even going to go up to Sydney and see him. But yes, art is about much more than that.
