We have a social group for aspies (grown-ups or sometimes also those in their late teens). The group is called ASCape.

We get together for games evenings, braais, or outings.

If you live in Cape Town and you'd like to 'ascape' from normal society for a while, join our Facebook group at
http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=121836551177945
or follow us on Twitter
http://twitter.com/ASCape (new profile -- will be used to post events)
or send me a private message here at WrongPlanet.

Tania, do you have an organizer? I'm also wondering how you are letting people know about your group. It might be a good idea to contact Jill Stacey in order let more people know about it.

There are three of us who act as contacts for the group (one very organised aspie man who doesn't use the Internet, and two slightly more scatterbrained but socially adept aspie women).

We have close ties with a more formal support group which is run by a mother and wife of Aspies and a psychologist -- they also focus on children's issues.

But do tell me about Jill, I haven't heard of her. It would be good for more people to get to know about this. If you like, I can send you a private message with my contact details.

Jill Stacey is the director of Autism South Africa. I'm sure you'll find some contact details elsewhere on the website:
