I tend to get ready quickly but then when I realise I have extra time I add to the list of things I'd like to get done to consider myself "really ready". And then when the time comes to actually leave I either leave the house carrying lots more stuff than I had intended, or else I've started another project and end up forgetting something essential to the initial readiness because my mind has wandered off and I get flustered at suddenly having to be "ready" again and leaving quickly.
As a result of the above, I usually try to give myself just enough time to get ready before leaving so that I don't have time to think about anything else. But I usually underestimate the time it takes me to get ready and I then end up being late. I can't win at this game.

How about you when they just pop in and say let's go?
I hate that so much. Even if I know someone's coming over some time later, I want to know when they leave their house so I have time to make sure I'm really prepared for their arrival (physically and mentally). Show up unannounced and I will pace around saying "hang on, what am I forgetting?" for 10 minutes or so, because I get flustered.
