Any meetings just for Aspergians in the NYC area?

I'm sure it's been asked before but I just can't go through 400+ pages tonight :)

An on-line Aspergian friend in Denmark has Aspie meetings in her area. She likes them. I'm not one to think of new ways to get myself out of the house, but I find the idea of multiple Aspies in a room somehow intriguing. I did a quick google but all the face-to-faces in the area were for Mommies or run by professionals. I have no need for Mommies and no desire to have my conversation mediated by an NT.

Any New York groups/meetings just for us? Thanks for any input.

I would go to meetup.com and look to see if there are any meetup groups for AS in your area. While I was living in LA I found a group there through meetup.

What would an AS get-together be like. A bunch of people not listening to each other and only speaking on matters with which they are obsessed? It sounds like a real live hoot!

There is one in Vernon, NJ. It is a little over an hour away from NYC. I would go to NYC, but I don't currently have transportation.

i go to a support group that for those with asperger's and others on the highfuncting end of the autistic spectrum led by an aspie coordinator.

i live in nyc (queens) but i go to the one in long island but they also have a location in the city here is the link
