Well its summer again. Although I like summer, one thing I can't stand is flies, bees, and other insects getting in my face.

If they get anywhere near my ear, the buzzing triggers a minor uncontrollable meltdown for me and I frantically swat it away.

This is quite embarrassing if this happens in the presence of other people and usually draws laughs or at least a dirty glance.

I wear plastic bracelets from the pharmacy - the fragrance repels insects - they work. It's the same fragrance they put in anti-insect spray and candles. I can't remember the name. They come in packages of two and I wear on my wrist and that other snapped around the back of my baseball cap.

The other thing that I found that works is on eBay, from somewhere in the Far East. It's a little gizmo that holds your keys and also vibes on an anti-mosquito frequency - that worked for me too, except I needed a new battery almost right away.

Have you tried spraying the sensitive areas with Off (or whatever)?

I have the same problem. I'm very aware of sound despite the fact that at one point in life my parents and I myself thought I might lose my hearing. Bugs flying near my head sound like they are right by my ears and I usually stop whatever I'm doing and just run or duck or get out of the way. I do not like the combination of the buzzing and knowing there is an insect near me. It works me up.

I also have this problem, the bracelets (citronella is what it's called) are the best thing I've found, though after hearing about the anti-mosquito frequency I may try that if it's cheap enough.

As an added bonus, it also repels body and head louse, so you could use he bracelet as a headband and have it be twice as effective.

Citronella! That's right. Thank you. :D

This is the one I bought - $0.10 & free shipping!
There are others that look the same, prices vary, maybe the one at @ $9 is deluxe?
