I have psychodermatitis, which means I pick at my skin and create "weeping sores" (looks like clear water, not infected).

What I would like to know is does anybody else do this and does it ever get into your gums and feel like an abscess?

gosh, i wish you could find a fix for that. as for me, i get recurring mouth sores due to spicy or too-hot food on the roof of my mouth, that emit something salty. if i could afford to see a doc about it, i'm afraid of what it might be.

Dare I say that I have always had picking habits whether it be nose, biting nails or anything else that takes up my time. I'm unemployed so have too much time.......

I started with one little area on my neck about 2 years ago.
Now, i'm picking at 7 areas on the back of my head and they weep clear, sometimes viscous, like synovial fluid. mmmmm.
They are now like fistulas, ie a breach between layers of tissue that should not exist.
Great innit, but even worse that I don't care too much.

Should apply healing cream as an anti-touch mechanism but you know how it goes...... Oh well I'll do it now once I squeeze them a bit.

If it's itchy, maybe ask your doc for pmsDESONIDE - I think it's got hormones, but whatever it is, it stopped the irresistible itch all over my face. Once I left it alone, it healed fast. It was such a great blessing!

But I'd still like to know if anybody's ever had toothache and hives or skin bubbles? Because I've already lost 3 teeth - at my insistence since the pain in the tooth was unbearable - and the dentist disagreed, wanted to keep the tooth. Apparently I have the right of refusal. But here we go again, and I really think that this horrible tooth pain originates in hives somehow.

I have a "bubble" on the side of my chin and if you stuck a needle right through, you'd hit that painful tooth. There's got to be a connection?

I'm really sorry if anybody finds this gross!

I'm pretty sure Mom (who would be over 100 if she was still with us) would recommend gargling with salt and warm water. Hmmm ... maybe I should try that too.

Well, if you can put a needle through without pain then you must have what would be called a fistula or sinus tunnel, if I understand the terms correctly. I would try and speak to an specialist in skin or teeth problems. Dentists have a certain knowledge and they do what they do best, if they are not just money grabbers that is.

No, not without pain - sorry I meant hypothetically.

That's the sort of thing Isaac Newton might have done.

When I get a sunburn and later itchy I scratch the spot and get that watery sore. It really stings though.

Are you talking about canker sores? I get them a lot and have to rinse with mouthwash to make them go away. Some can be small and others big and uncomfortable.

For sunburn, I've had success with pouring vinegar over my skin and leaving it there for a few minutes. It seems to neutralize something, I don't know. But I'm definitely more comfortable.

I googled canker sores, I don't that's what I've got. But see next post!

I think I found the answer!

Pay attention - this is tricky. The cure for my tooth is to put cream on my face.

Explanation: I know I get flare-ups of psychodermatosis on my face. My face is connected to my mouth. My mouth is connected to my gums, which is where the swelling was. And I was in agony.

I looked in the mirror and saw red blotches all over my face. Big aha! moment. I slobbered Desonide (prescription) all over my face. And the red blotches went away, and the swelling on my face and in my gum/tooth went away.

My poor dentist - he tried so hard to tell me it wasn't the tooth and I didn't believe him.
