I know the site parodies these things but I just think this is really unthoughhtful and insensitive. I can't be bothered to explain it all but it's really just so nasty about people with aspergers syndrome :/.

EVERY article of encyclopedia dramatica is unthoughtful, insensitive, ret*d and fails at being y funny. My best advice for you would be to just forget about those idiots and pretend they don't exist. Because that site is not going away and it is free speech after all.

true. I was searching about the third crusade and that came up as a link. I browsed for a while and saw they mentioned aspie on there I clicked on it and well :/

That website is clearly set up by jerks with the intent of making fun of people and acting like jerks. The internet is a free place, which has both positive and negative consequences. I would recommend just ignoring this nonsense; no intelligent person is going to read it as anything other than lowbrow laugh-bating blended in a creamy sauce with hate mongering. If you are getting offended, you are letting them get the better or you.

It's best not to read junk like that. It isn't worth the upset that it causes.

It shows no thought or insight whatsever. It's just a collection of ridiculous statements with no real sense. It's too stupid to take seriously.

As offensive as the page may be, it authors still have freedom of speech. it is not our place to demand it be taken down. im offended by many things, but i realize that if i try to limit someone elses speech, they can do it to me. a couple in i think virginia named their son "adolph hitler campbell", a dumb*** thing to do, but still within their legal rights.

it was good of you to bring this to the attention of the community, and i believe everyone should read it as it is good to know your enemy's plans.

It does pay to PAY ATTENTION to the big bold flashing disclaimer at the top of the page. Everyone is warned the site will most LIKELY offend some readers, yet some insist on reading it and complaining they've been offended.

Why would you READ it with a disclaimer like that right there at the top of the page?

If you saw a bar in the middle of nowhere, with a HUGE flashing sign over the door that said, "WARNING! EVERYONE WHO ENTERS THIS BAR WILL BE BEATEN SENSELESS," would you go in?

If you read the discussion page for the "article" there are quite a few Aspies who like the page and find it funny. I find it to be nothing more than a somewhat "Aspie" description of stupid NT's who don't "get" what AS is really all about.

Okay, okay, sometimes we can have a kind of morbid curiosity and will read crap even though we know we might be offended by it. I do, and sometimes I get pissed off too, but unless the site didn't WARN me, and I feel I've been "duped," I choose to take responsibility for being offended.

Now THAT site is funny and intelligently done. Does he overstate some of the negative charactaristics of SOME NTs as universal? Well yess, and that could offend some NTs, but at least he does it in an entertaining way, and it's no more offensive than the way SOME people write about people on the spectrum, which is his intent.

lol. I made a similar board to this about Encyclopedia Dramatica a few days ago in the Random forum. Look at the forum on ED about Asperger's.. most of them there really think that way about it. I know that they make fun of everything, but most of it is just stupid, not just the Asperger's article.

It's very dark, biting and hard edged humor. If you don't like Lewis Black, don't go there. Lewis Black is tame by comparison. I love him though.

I like Lewis Black. I even like South Park. Most of the stuff on ED doesn't make enough sense in any way to be funny to me, though. I did look at uncyclopedia because someone mentioned that in the board i made earlier, and i thought that one was pretty funny. ED just strikes me as a way to make fun of people without making any sense about it. It does make fun of a wide variety of things, so i don't think it's really offensive.. but the people there on the forum act like idiots who really think the way the articles write things.
