I just started at a new job. I am a security guard at a community for mentally handicapped people. So far it has been easy, but only because I have not had to deal with an enraged resident. Not that it would really be hard for me to deal with them, but they do have a tendency to spit.

I work the graveyard shift. Sometimes I'm in the guard booth, and I go on patrol in a squad car sometimes. I'm still trying to learn the Ten Codes. Example: 10-4 = acknowledgement.

I just started a job as a residential aide for people who are dually dagnosed with mental retardation and mental health issues. I know one of the clients has AS, so this is going to be interesting. Part of my job iis mplementing a behavior intervention plan whenever a cleint starts acting out. If it esculates too far then i have to have them commited to a mental hospital. My boss said their's only guy that could go that far but he hasn't gotten anywhere near that point in a over a year.

Some of the residents are autistic, but none have Aspergers Syndrome. The people here are either totally incapable of taking care of themselves OR committed a crime but are too incompetent to go to prison.
