:D Please ignore the well-meaning but very emotional father. He sounds sweet but I got uncomfortable watching him. These kids are from my hometown and made it to the Rachel Ray show. No, I didn't meet them before I left.

WOW....a vidio that didnt talk about the torture of being a parent of a kid with AS(well,only a few tears, but they were about feeling the pain of your kids isolation because of peers and not about the AS kid)nice.

Neet!! I can relate.
I flourished because of music too!...sorta...I mean...It gave me alot of direction in life...contributed alot to my socialization and stuff...I have been singing since I was little..and joined a band when I was 15..so it has been a big part of most of my life.
It is hard to say what I would be doing now if it weren't for that.

WAY TO GO! The AS guy walks a lot like, and describes his life like mine. I wasn't so miserable though. As for Rachel Ray? For some reason, I ALWAYS liked her! And MAN did her business TAKE OFF! I guess others like her like I do. She has a cooking show, cook books, a travel show, travel books, and a talk show!! !! Now why can't they ALL talk a little more about this. These people ARE part of that "DREADED disease"!

Because they want us to be bricks in the wall that stack nicely and we don't stack nicely.

It's good to see someone using their brain to deal with this for a change. We see too much of the negative. I think the parents who handle it well are quiet about it. That's why they get less attention even though they probably have greater results. JMO

We're too busy to join the misery parade! :D And we hate crowds! :D I'm glad this is getting received well. There are several more youtube videos of them if you follow the poster. They had gotten a lot of local press coverage last year.

That's the feeling I got. I didn't want to come right out and say if they'd quit whining and start trying to find ways to enjoy those kids they'd be happier, but that's what I thought. LOL

That's fantastic!

My parents' version of teaching me music was putting me in a &$%#ing choir with 30 other kids who were all snobs and very social. The choir director was very competitive, having us put on professional concerts that actually made money, and entering international competitions and whatnot... and most of the time I didn't sing. I just kind of mouthed the words. Boy did that make the director mad!

I had a similar experience with choir..only I really liked to sing. The kids were stupid and snotty and none of them wanted me anywhere near them...but I was one of the better-more enthusiastic singers.

Oh man this is video is great! I love music I've always found it so helpful for dealing with anxiety.
