what type of music do people with asperger syndrome like?

Rock/Metal? Country? Hip-hop? R&B? Jazz? Smooth Jazz? etc...

All different kinds, just like people without Asperger's.

I get annoyed with people because they like one or two genres only.

I like 60's/70's rock, punk, pop punk, proper emo (1980's to early 90's), screamo, hardcore, jazz, folk, indie music that isn't another cloned indie scene band, etc. There's probably more.

I don't like metal, rap, country, or rnb. It does nothing for me.

Some of my favourite bands are Cursive, Thursday, Jawbreaker, Fugazi, You Am I, The Black Keys, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Phil Ochs (singer), Ant-Flag, Refused, Funeral For a Friend, The Get Up Kids, The Vines, Evermore, etc

Well, the Aspies I've met (here and in real life) seem fairly sensible, and I like to think that anyone sensible likes Pink Floyd!

(Besides, all the ones I've met in real life do.)

I like rock, oldies, chilrens, any music that was in A League of Their Own.

I dunno, all the pot heads I've met like the Grateful Dead, Bob Marley, Phish, Sublime, that kind of thing. Stoner music!

You are right though, the only time it makes sense to ask what kind of music a group of people like is if the reason they're a group is a shared love of a particular music. Last time I checked musical taste was not a part of the DSM!

It depends on the person.

I like things that do not have specific high tones, that sound interesting, have female singers (because I like the sound, not because they're women) interesting sounds, overtones, happy, or just something I like. There's lots of stuff, and it changes, but right now I like the bird and the bee, metric, school of seven bells, fiona apple, kelly clarkson, and a bunch of other things.

I like songs that do not repeat the same thing many times at the end.

I like bands who are NOT reggae, ska, police, sting, clapton, nickelback, that guy from poison, freebird, the taking care of business song, smooth jazz, romantic R&B, too emotional, a bunch of other stuff, or annoying metal.

I also like stuff that is not a ballad by a metal or other hard kind of musicians, anything but those.

I like many different kinds of music, but apart from genres I like harmonies and contrapuntal whatjamajiggers ( I have no musical knowledge)

What type of music do NTs like? There are many people who like many types of music, no matter if they're on the spectrum, they're mentally challenged, they're mentally ill, or they're NTs. The way that a person's mind works does not determine their tastes in music. A person's musical taste is influenced by their personality, and not their brain structure.

I like The Kinks, The Who, The Small Faces and The Beatles and other oldies from the 1960s.

I like jazz, synphonic rock and classical music.

I like ALL kinds of music. Really, if i like the lyrics i do not care about the music. Whether it is rap, bachata, salsa, rock, whatever.

I'm the opposite. If I like the music the lyrics could be about anything and I'd be bobbing my head.
