Geohot did the first ever iPhone unlock in 2007, the interview above is from that time, and is just one of many he did. Shortly after this time, he got an internship at Google.

He recently quit the iPhone scene, but he released many first jailbreaks for new firmwares in his time, and with just a few weeks worth of work, he hacked the PS3, which was thought uncrackable for years before he tried.

Anyways, he certainly seems Aspieish in that interview. What do you think?

It seems like he could be, though after watching only one interview, nobody can say for sure.

True. But I think all that stuff he did sounds Aspieish too. Notice how he said he spent his whole summer holiday hacking his iPhone. I doubt an NT would do that.

I'm not saying that he doesn't appear to be an Aspie; I'm just saying that I'd have to watch more videos of him to come to the conclusion that he most likely has AS. :P
And, true... no NT would do that.

Maybe you should ask him, and not post her until he gives you an answer, and his permission.

His permission? To, what, ask a question about him on a forum? :?

Anyway, he's not an easy man to get a hold of. He recently shut down his blogs, Twitter account, etc, when he left the iPhone scene.

Other than the fact that he became "obsessed" with doing this (not uncommon when a techie is trying to solve a problem), what about him seemed Aspie to you? He came across as a pretty normal guy to me.

It seems like labeling people in the media as having AS is getting more popular, and not just with those currently alive, but historical figures as well. In my opinion, people are too quick to speculate, often with very little to go on.

Personally I choose not to speculate on if someone has AS. It is basically just a waste of time. Unless they get a professional diagnosis and decide to come out publicly then no one can say for sure. And even under those circumstances there is a margin of error due to the competency level of the psychiatrist/psychologist involved.

As a quick note, I do agree that it's silly to say someone has AS based on stuff like this, but I do like to speculate things and say it could be true. It's not a reliable conclusion, of course, but I find it fun :P
