Registration to Autscape 2010 has opened:
http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt125713.html

Will you be there?
If not -
Is it because of financial reasons? Is it because of geographical reasons?
Is it because of other reasons? if so - what other reasons?

If yes -
Will you be there mainly to meet other aspies? Will you be there mainly for the presentations? Will you be there mainly for the leisure activities? Will you be there for a combination of the above?
Will you be there for other reasons? if so - what other reasons?

Did I forget to ask you anything about Autscape 2010? if so - what did I forget to ask you about it?

No but I wish I was. I'm considering next year when I don't have to go with an adult, and hopefully being 18 my mum would give me the freedom to catch a train for the first time (I hope I hope).
If I was going, my main reason would be that ASDs are my current favourite obsession thing, so a whole few days of lectures on my special interest YES PLEASE. And I'd go just to meet people and have a memorable experience.

I would so love to come to this, because it's my dream right now to meet others on the spectrum. I know NO ONE.

I would kind of be killing two birds with one stone, because my degree is in English and I missed going to London when I was in college for financial reasons, and I would love to go to the U.K.

If I can possible swing this, I will.

I'm not going this year because of financial reasons. Last year I got a third off because I was doing a presentation, and it made a difference.

And it just feels like a very long way to go for three days, ( to Bath from the south of France ). I'm less and less into travelling.

It was a very interesting, if quite exhausting, experience, but not brilliant enough to travel so far and pay so much for a second time.

In case you don't know Autreat is coming up at the end of June, IIRC. It's in Pennsylvania.

Hey, Thanks! It's not Jolly Old England, but it would save me a lot of cash and airports.

Update: Just checked out the web site and it's in Bradford, only about 40 miles from the town in NY where my parents live. Still want to go to England sometime though.

This is every year right?
I am moving to France the beginning of August so this year would be impossible but I will make sure me and my family are there next year!

I hope I will be there. I have applied.
I will want to learn more about ASD (since I was only diagnosed this year) and also meet people and (cheeky I know) practice my social skills on y'all.

Definitely not going, I would need to fly a plane there. I would rather spend money to fly to Hong Kong to visit family.

I will most likely be at Autreat. Autscape is way too far for me.

I don't have the financial means, this year. I hope to have the means, next year. I'll be there, next year, in all my Kinky 60s glory. 8)

Since the new prime minister came along, it means MORE financial issues for me and it also means I can't attend unless it was in London.

Will you be there?
No

If not -
Is it because of financial reasons? Is it because of geographical reasons?
Is it because of other reasons? if so - what other reasons?

Both financial and geographic reasons. I can think of few places I'd rather go than Bath, but it is too far and too expensive a journey for us at this time. We are in the USA and have limited means.

If yes -
Will you be there mainly to meet other aspies? Will you be there mainly for the presentations? Will you be there mainly for the leisure activities? Will you be there for a combination of the above?
Will you be there for other reasons? if so - what other reasons?

I would be there to bring my two Aspie sons and my third son who isn't an Aspie but definitely isn't NT either. I very much enjoy Aspies and learning about AS and would go even without them, but it's more important to me that they go than I do. I'd love my kids to get a chance to see adults with AS, develop new social skills, and make friends.

Did I forget to ask you anything about Autscape 2010? if so - what did I forget to ask you about it?
I can't think of anything.

I might go, but transport is an issue, as I don't have a car, and it takes a long time for me to get from Leeds to somehwere just outside Bath.

I'll look into it over the next week or so

I understand you.
I'm too "addicted" to Autscape to skip a year, but I wouldn't fly to the UK just for Autscape. I'm combining it with going to some music festivals, and with hanging around London (my favourite city on Earth).

Autscape is never "brilliant" enough for me, but I love its atmosphere and I sometimes meet fascinating characters over there.

This year, demand for Autscape has been very high and it may not be possible to accommodate everyone who wants to come. I see this as a good sign. A sign that Autscape is starting to gain publicity and may be developing into a large scale event.
Maybe Autscape would become an autistic equivalent to Glastonbury Festival? (just joking...)
