Moderator Note: Due to the nature of this topic, there are some natural cautions to be followed, and questions about what is going on that should get answered, all of which are documented the further you get into the thread. Beyond reminding members to take note of those, it is assumed that posters are adults able to make their own decisions about the information in front of them, about what they choose to believe, and about how they will spend their excess money. Any poster not yet an adult should consult a parent before making any offers of assistance.

Update: per status on pages 37 and 38 there should be no need for further contributions to this effort.

I just thought I would inform the commnunity of this.

It's quite a sad story and can probably relate to many aspies as many of us (especially guys) find it hard to get a GF. Well a well liked friendly member of WP called Seanmw has finally found happiness with a girl he met online.

It's a real shame because he has recently found out that she has a brain tumour which is likely to be (or is) cancerous, and he never got to meet her and be by her side for support. I think it's awful that a 20 year old has to go through with this sort of thing so young and it's really sad for both him and her.

They are desperate to meet each other but neither have the funds to travel across america. I have decided to donate money for a plane ticket for him to be by her side for a while while she goes through this. Some other WP member said they would also help, and anyone willing to give some loose change would be nice if you want to.

He didn't ask for this and didn't expect it, but I was happy to contribute anyway. Even if not enough money for a plane ticket is raised at least maybe he can send her some nice flowers.

If you want to contribute just PM him for details.

Just thought I would put this out there because it's an absolute tragedy and two aspies could be so much happier, at least for a little while.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but hey, i'm a giving person.

A plane ticket is about 300 dollars, plus the chemotherapy and treatment for his girlfriend. I can cover his food and living expenses if he wants though, so he doesn't have to worry about that.

Okay helping people in need is great an all, but you can never trust people on the internet. This is most likely a scam. Don't fall for it.

If us regular members were to donate $20 each, that would pay for both the plane ticket, and a good chunk of the chemo.

i do not think that hale_bop would scam people. she has been here since ...2004? i think, and there has never been anything i ever saw her write that seems deceptive. if she has spoken to him and is satisfied that it is true, then i believe it. she does not seem at all silly to me. anyway, it is not a large amount to lose if it is a trap.

i do not know the details, and i am not going to pm anyone because that is not my style, but i intend to wait for further information that describes the situation (maybe in this thread). i think hale bop is telling the truth and i think the sean fellow is saying what he believes to be true.

maybe the girl wants to end the relationship with him by saying she is going to die, but that seems insane because it only would lead to him to be most likely rushing to be with her. who knows.
i will wait and see what happens, and if i think he can not get to be with her and it is true, then i have a fair bit of money, and i think giving a small bit away for this type of thing is not a bad thing.

My god, I really wasn't expecting him to go through so much pain, I sort of knew about it because he posted a thread about it in the past about her girlfriend having something cancerous but at the time, I would of thought it was a health scare.

I'm just now worried about how he is going to cope in the near future?

My mate went out with this really pretty girl (who I thought was not a very nice person) and they both had a good relationship but one thing the girl did do was lie about her brain tumour which really wound him up and literally put him down dead cold, he ended up having to dump her (which I would of done).

But hopefully, she wasn't lying, fingers crossed?

I feel really sorry for him though that he has to go through so much pain, he seems like a really fun member, definitely had our funny moments in a couple of threads.

But I seriously do think he needs a group hug from us. :)

sorry i am too cold hearted to give hugs. i can give cash which in my own simple silly mind means more to him than hugs. cash will get him to where he needs to be (by her side). hugs are cheap. sorry i am not belittling the value of "hugs", but hugs are easy to give. facility is harder to give.

if she is in such a seriously grave circumstance, then all he really needs is cash to help him to go be by her side and give her his energy to help her fight harder.

i am not insulting you please understand.
i once loved a girl when i was 4 and she was seriously sick and wore glasses that amplified her eye to the size of her glasses lens (the other one was taped over), and she wore leg braces and could not talk but i understood her and held her hand in preschool all the time i was there, and then she was taken away and later i heard that she died, and i wished i could have been near her when she got seriously sick and i wished i could have held her tight all the way until i could kiss her goodbye and tell her i am coming soon to be with her again. i never got over it. she was the one i loved most in my whole life, and no one will ever take her place in my heart. my mother hugged me at the time, but it was no consolation at all. i should have been with her when her life was dwindling.

so i will help the sean person to go to be with her with money if i need to.

what a jaded and rusty attitude you have.

i will try to duck your leaks from now on.
how cynical of you. i can not be hurt by believing someone who lied to me.
i have a lot of solidness to my life, and people who lie to me are like little stones that chip the paint of my bonnet (hood) as i drive through life.

my bed beckons and it is so seductive, and my eyes are so heavy and i have so much to do tomorrow that your quandary is like a smudge that i can not be bothered to even look at because it is a tiny neural avenue where the speed limit is too slow for me to want to go there.

Very poetic way to say 'STFU'

i had something to eat which delayed me from going to sleep.
i would never tell anyone to shut the f*ck up.
talk all you wish and ignore what my statements were.
they are not designed to hush you.
say more what you think you should say and i promise i will leave you out of my quoted comments tomorrow.
sorry to you if what i said made you feel bad. i am more interested that he can get to his love before she dies than arguing with you ok?

and this is the last thing i have to say tonight. and errrrrrr bzzzzzzzz.
