I have always found that, compared to most people I know, I am more accepting of other people despite their differences. I suppose it's partially due to the fact that I know what it feels like to be rejected for being weird, but I think it may also be because we aren't entirely sure how people are "supposed" to act. So if someone acts or looks differently we don't really notice or care.

I think this is one of our greatest strengths, and it upsets me to hear people speaking badly about someone just because they're a bit unusual. It baffles me why people get caught up in such trivial matters.

Amen. For me, "normality" is not a positive thing. The more interesting someone is, the more they intrigue me.

I think you are completely right!

No, it isn't, neither in the "good/bad" sense, nor in the "certainty" sense.

For me, "normal" = "boring" and/or a fictional arbitrary construct.

I'm more accepting of individual differences, than most people, that I've had the fortune to know. I'm different, myself, so this only makes sense.

I've noted my own tendency to make friends with other misfits.

I can be very excepting of other peoples differences, but I've noticed that a lot of people that I'd think be happy to receive some sympathy, are actually rejecting of my niceties, which leads me to believe I either read them wrong or I'm not the kind of person they want sympathy from.

I'm accepting, as long as that difference doesn't involve them being a jerk.
