I always highly suspected ADHD, and yesterday my psychologist told me I am most likely inattentive-type ADHD as well as high functioning autistic.

Poor concentration, poor comprehension, can't focus on a single task like homework, listening, or watching TV without my mind wandering off.
I also have these bursts of hyperactivity, where I'm too excited and clap a lot. That could be related to autism though. It's the only time when I seem to hand flap.
I have problems with organization too.

I found out when I was 14 when my mother showed me an article in the paper about ADD and there were questions in it and I discovered I had it too. Then I find out I was diagnosed with it when I was ten.

Eveything Pensieve wrote. I wouldn't call what I do exactly hand flapping, but I have a hand motion. My "bursts" are triggered by a specific activity. It's not always an activity I'm looking forward to doing though, so I'm not sure why it happens at times.

I've never been diagnosed with AS or ADHD. I never thought about it! Why should I? My mind set was this: if something was wrong with me, my parents would tell me, or it would have been noticed. Well, that mind set was wrong about the first, and only somewhat right about the second. My mother knew something was wrong with me when I was just an infant, but the doctors told her to bugger off (late eighties, what do you expect?). She didn't actually tell me that history until a few months ago though.

I notice having troubles with attention. I'd lose track of what was going on, on TV, because my mind would wander off. Now, this didn't happen while watching shows I was interested in. I find now having sub-titles helps me watch stuff (I also sometimes have trouble making out what people have said on TV, so reading helps). I have a hard time reading. I read slow, and if I'm reading to learn something (like for college), I have to reread sentences several times sometimes, and have a lot of pauses and breaks just trying to get through a page or two. Heck, even trying to count and keep track of numbers can be difficult for me. I just go somewhere else with my thoughts!

Overall, I've suspected AS the last 2 years, and have only recently realized my problems were accompanied by ADHD symptoms (5 months ago). Now, I more than suspect, I'm positive (with a mind to consider other answers of course).

A FDA approved stimulant - alerting agent dramatically reduced my ADHD symptoms in less than 1 hour. Involuntary distractibility was reduced, attention span was increased. I could pay attention much easier and much better (not a cure). That's how I knew I had ADHD. Stimulants - alerting agents do work for a few persons (not everyone). ADHD is real.

It showed up on a neuropsych evaluation, which made sense because I had apparently been self-medicating with caffeine for quite a while.

when I was in third grade I got into an argument with the teacher about me being in special education. I told her I did not belong in special education classes and that I was normal. She told me I was not normal I had ADHD. So that is how I learned I had it.

.....okay then.

I was diagnosed with it when I was 6. I can imagine why. They were considering "Oppositional Behavior.." eh... something something. I am fidgety, detached from reality, distractable, disorganized, and I don't respond when spoken to sometimes

Well, other than being professionally diagnosed with it... umm, I have a very hard time concentrating, I can become really hyper if I don't take meds for it, and have a hard time remembering what people say (though I do anyway even when I am fully attentive). Also, I have a really hard time sitting still or standing in the same spot for a long period of time.
