Luckily I know about AS and i know how to kind of mask it, but him? He says any stupid thing and people treat him like s**t, all the NTs there gang up on him at times. People kind of like him but if he pisses of an NT like the other day, this really buff black dude was slaying him, back biting to everyone about some order he made, then he yelled at the poor aspie in words that dug into his poor incompetent heart, I could tell this dude was kind of scared. Things were missing from inventory so I heard some one accuse him of taking it. He says funy things here and there but ultimatly gets scorned harshly by NT groups that form at the restaurant. As all of this is happening Im quiet and minding my business, I avoid this guy cus I cant have him make me look any more bad then I am doing at work at the moment.

Maybe subtlely slip him a nice pamphlet?
If no such pamphlet exists, then make one homemade and put a funny, made-up author name on it to conceal your identity :P

Resteraunts are the worst place for an aspie to work. They seem to attract NTs who cannot get job anywhere else that pays well. They usually feel like idiots for not making the "American Dream" for themselves and take it out on anyone they think are lesser than them. I guess it makes them feel better about themselves. I worked in a resteraunt for 9 years because I could not get a job anywhere else because I kept failing at job interviews. About one quater of the employees that I worked with I went to high school with and knew I was in special education for ADHD. They kept harping on me for being stupid yet I knew my IQ is 138. a lot of the guys were former remedial course students who struggled to get good grades let alone graduate. A waitress who worked there with me was studying to a be special education teacher told these people I most likely had an above average IQ. So she brought in an IQ test she got at walden books or somewhere similar. I took the test and so did my main tormentor he scored very near the ret*d level and I scored above average. All I got out of it was more aggravation from him making matters worst. I did get him fired through our union for discrimination and constant harrassment.

The first rule of bully management is that IGNORING bullying is as wrong as doing bullying. Whether you are the bullied or on the sidelines.

A lot of the Puetro Rican guys that worked there like me because I was willing to learn Spanish. That included a lot of the managers. They made the tormentors who wasted time aggravatting me do the s**t work to keep them busy and make them tired enough to leave me alone. It does not take much to get a bully to leave someone alone such as yelling at them that they are wasting the bosses money and time. Just make sure the boss is in ear shot when you do the yelling the boss heres it and you do not have to snitch on anyone.

If that does not work spit in their drinks when they leave them alone. (Just kidding)

That's okay, Corp. I've also been trying to avoid your posts with their not-very-cleverly disguised taunts and occasional insults, but I just can't resist making fun of your poor incompetent heart with some kind of comment, like "Dyingofpoetry 4, Corp900 0."

You really need to THINK like an autistic if you want to pass for one, but the trollisms are getting WAY too obvious. I mean, are you even trying anymore?

Good point dyingofpoetry and I get the same feeling.

As to the issue of the guy at work, taking him aside and telling him he has AS isn't going to do any good. For one thing, you don't have enough information to make a diagnosis. What this guy needs is someone to stand up for him whether, he's autistic or not.

I am not preaching here but reading your post reminded me of this quote - "The world is a dangerous place. Not because there are bad people doing bad things, but because good people stand by and let it happen."

However, are you sure the guy is an aspie?

I agree. And if it's right that 'NTs' do it to make them feel better, then think of how little effort they must be putting into their life if they claim to be better than you. ;) Because they are currently on the same level as you (being that they have no good paying job and are stuck with you at the same job). Logic usually never works, however, so don't ever try that.

You are enabling your co-workers to harass this man. People have been killed because other people just stood by and did nothing. Other people have been killed because bully victims snapped and brought a gun to work one day. You need to do something. This is totally wrong for them to do to him.

Your work should have--most do--a hotline to report harassment and abuse, You can call anonymously, and can even use a pay phone if you are truly paranoid about talking about it.

Frankly, I can't believe you're ignoring him and letting these people do this just because it might make you look stupid if you associated with him. Where is your sense of morality!?
