Put them in a room alone. Anything can be permitted inside the room, including things for entertainment purposes. Internet connection will be permitted and they can talk all they want on facebook and other websites. However, Skype and other features for video communication will not be permitted.

How long until they go crazy?

Depends on the NT. As for me, since that's pretty much what I do all day it wouldn't make much of a difference.

I could do this for a pretty dang long time. I'd get lonely, but I'd function pretty much like I always do.

If I had a book or 2 I'd be good to go.

Sounds like heaven :)

for me, never.

altho i suppose i should ask what kind of internet connection? if its dial up, ok that i couldnt take.

and do i get regular upgrades to my computer? cause if in 5 years i am playing on todays equivalent of a 486, well ill just chew my limbs off now.

i need a mini fridge too, with an endless supply of diet pepsi.

and someone to pay the CC bill for my fotm mmorpg acct.

given all those things, i could happily live inside a room alone. i would miss my family, but i wouldnt go crazy.

With a title like that I just had to click on the thread.

I would be twitchy after a couple days. I would be neurotic in about a week. Full bore loss of sanity? I might last a month, maybe longer.

I once did a night shift job and I got so lonely with no coworkers ever that I started trying to make small talk with bugs. That might actually be crazy. But at least I knew it was an unhinged thing to do. (I stopped doing it as soon as I quit.)

LOL, exactly! Other than the computer, I'll just need a slot through which three regular meals a day will be served, and I'm good to go. And you can keep your Facebook.

I think this experiment should be modified. have two rooms next to each other with a two way mirror. Let the NT watch an Aspie having a BLAST in solitude. I think it may make them feel extra crazy.

 To their eyes, they might not be able to tell they're having a blast. What would drive them crazy is wondering how the heck they can be so content.

I would go crazy tapping on the glass trying to get the Aspie's attention. And then the Aspie would go crazy from the incessant tapping sound. Unless they had headphones.

I would defiantly participate. Sounds like a whole lot of fun.
