Who else really likes to do this? I do it subconsciously when I play violin, and on accident when I am doing things like watching TV.

Regarding the idea of holding one's breathe, I would certainly do it consciously on an archery range to increase the possibility of being a little more accurate with the arrow and bow.

At times, I do find that I do it without choosing to do it.

I certainly do not like to hold my breathe for fun.

I have noticed an occasional, involuntary tendency for me to mouth breath vs nose breath.

i used to like to take some deep breaths when i was lying down trying to go to sleep, then when i was well oxygenated i'd deliberately stop breathing for a brief period. i found it restful. i wouldn't force it, though. when my body really wanted a breath i'd breathe.

Sometimes I forget to breathe, then compensate with a huge sigh. I'm not aware of it, usually. But it makes trouble with other people who think I'm sighing over something they've done.

I used to hold my breath when I did archery, too. :) A family friend of ours holds his in meetings to pass the time - he can go for a really, really long time.

"Breathe" is a verb.

I do that too; I forget to inhale. I've startled a few people with my sudden gasp for air.
