I just saw someone posted some commentary on a classmate's status due to her recent wedding this past weekend.

She said "Congratulations (name removed)! !! I remember when we were 14 and worried about boyfriends."

Um....WHAT?! !! !! !! !! !! !

I don't get it...these two were incredibly beautiful gals that I went to school with. They have social skills, they were generally smart--one of them is very smart; why would they have been worried about these things at that age?

Were they nerdy 14 year old Autistic kids with scoliosis who creeped every single person out that met them? I don't think so!

I just don't get it; I'm not saying that all teens aren't (apparently) really insecure about themselves, but why would women like these be worried about something you'd expect an Autistic teenager to be worried about? Hell, I thought I had no chance at finding true love from age 14-24/25, to be honest!

I must be totally missing something; could someone please enlighten me here?

Maybe they weren't worrying about getting boyfriends but obsessing about relationship "drama".

I'm saying they had boyfriends but were worrying about the kind of relationship details14 year olds worry about. We're talking about really young girls here, when 3 months with a boyfriend is a LTR. Ithink the Facebook friends were just looking back and laughing at their own silliness.

Yer probably right......I wish I could say I think I over-reacted though; but I don't think I did.

Well...at least when my eventual kids come along, I can give them a good head start in getting their lives worked out, whereas I didn't even know I was Autistic 'til around 20.....and even then I didn't know a damn thing about it really for another 6 years or so...
