I'd probably go to a bar and talk to people I didn't know. :drunken:

If I was an NT for a day.... right now, I would be trying to make the most of it what I have missed out on when I was an aspie....
But then it would feel so weird because I haven't got any idea what its like being an NT.

I would also celebrate it with a party.... because before i couldn't go near balloons and yet I would survive it now and also socialize without feeling drained.... It would be awesome for that moment.

But second of all, I would deeply miss it because it was a part of me for my whole life and I love my obsessions and it would break my heart being separated from my obsessions. :(

I guess that would be a mixture of feelings

Once I turn back to an aspie, it would be such a relief....

I would hug my family members and wear jeans. I would then go to public and socialize. Then I'd come home and watch TV all night exclaiming how bored I am.

I can't think of anything else they do.

Probably sit there unable to do anything and get carted off to the ER.

What? You said "NT". You didn't say "NT with a history of being NT". Brains don't work right when you suddenly change their configuration like that.

It's interesting for me as an "NT" to see how we're perceived. A large percentage of NTs are also very shy, don't like socializing, or gossiping, or talking about fashion, celebrities, or sports.

I have passionate interests in art, technology, and world affairs. I spend most of my free time alone reading, doing web development or painting.

Let's not generalize, OK?

I am not sure how anyone is generalizing in this thread to be honest.

Sorry, I said generalize when I meant stereotype.

I read things like "I would then go to public and socialize. Then I'd come home and watch TV all night exclaiming how bored I am. I can't think of anything else they do."

Some of these threads about NTs seem to put down NTs for not having any real interests or for being vapid and not really doing anything but socializing and talking about crap that's not really important....I understand that's maybe how some people with AS see some people who are NT, but there is as much diversity of personality and interests among NTs as there is among Aspies.

I do not see my statement that way. I see it as: I would go to public and socialize. This is because with autism this is difficult. This does not mean all NT's like to socialize, merely they do not have social impairments. That is why I want to socialize. The last statement was partially joking. It's simply that my normal actions and interests would be deemed unusual for a neurotypical, and I can not really imagine what else I would do and I know a lot of people watch TV. And I also know a lot of people that constantly complain of boredom.

I would mourn.

I would cry for those at whose funerals I could not force myself to shed a tear, even though I cared about them or missed them.
I would laugh at myself for all those moments in books or video games where the hero/heroine died and I did shed a tear.
I would relate to those who have lost a family member in a natural way rather than making an inappropriate comment or joke while attempting to console and cheer them.

It's not that I lack emotion or don't feel strong emotion. It's just that... my emotions link to different things when compared to 'normative' emotional responses. I may be smart mentally, but emotionally I'm a fool. If that makes sense to anyone.

In the weeks running up to my NT day, I would organize a business networking event, which would take place on my NT day.

I suspect it would be better planned knowing that I wouldn't want to be cancelling (or not showing up to) my own networking event!

At the event on my NT day, I would dissemble magnificently, wouldn't miss (m)any social cues, have a better idea of who I should follow up on after the event and who clearly doesn't want to be bothered with my kind of product/service EVER again.

Most of all, I'd be able to get through a social event without wishing I hadn't gone, or wondering when I could leave.

I'd listen to Top 40, dress slu*ty like the girls around my area, and than go to the bar and get drunk. All the things that I wouldn't dare do, if I was in my right mind.

I'd comprehensively document my thought processes, logic, theory of mind, emotions etc so that I could study it when I returned to my real self and try to understand how they think and feel.

Of course if I did that I suppose I wouldn't be being NT, now would I?
