To start with, don't know if there is a subject like this already (if there is one ignore this) I just haven't figured out how to search this site.

What is your special aspie subject?

Mine is pharmacology, aka medication and drugs.

Probably 20 of these threads, but oh well.

Lifetime Special Interest: Broadway. Some Specific sub-interests have been the musical Evening Primrose, the musical Carrie, and Rex Harrington.
Current Additional Special Interest: Eating Disorders (probably because I happen to be engaging in one)

Long time interests: history, historical mystery books, mystery books in general (emphasis on cozy, not bloody), writing fiction. My interest in history had varied over the years. I've concentrated at various times on first century Rome, medieval England, vaudeville, the Holocaust (with emphasis on Righteous Gentiles).

Newer interest: exploring Asperger's (because it's only recently I realized I'm on the spectrum). And in history right now early 20th century U.S.

Fiction novels. Both for the stories and for the actual physical books. I collect them. The recent move towards digital distribution of books via e-readers has me concerned that actual paper books may become quite expensive to obtain in future.

Yeah that's my interest too. I'll be devastated if paper books become obsolete or so rare they're hard to find. I hate reading books online and I want to continue collecting. My mum will be happy if paper books disappear because she thinks I'm becoming a hoarder and will be buried in books. :)

Dragons, and to that end I have become well-versed in many mythological legends and modern fantasy books. :)

Ha! Yes that does go with the territory of collecting things. My collection is not at the point to where I can line all four walls of a room with filled bookshelves but it's getting there.

Books will never disappear. They will probably get more expensive due to rising prices for everything (I remember the day of the 50 cent paperback). Indie Ebooks are already much cheaper and though I like the tactile feel of the paper I've gone over to ebooks mostly and library books. Mainly because of price and that I have so many books piled up around the house now.

For me, it's the stories (info for NF books) that count the most, not the container.
