Hello,

I'm 24 years old... Been tryin really hard to just suck it up and live a normal life, despite my constant failures and anxieties...
My doc gave me some Seroquel for depression, I took it once a night for two nights. I won't take it again...

Anyways... I am quite sure that something is not right with me, and its not a 'chemical imbalance'.
Is there any good way to figure this out? Or should I just tell my doc and hope she believes me.

Thanks,
Tylor

Hi Tylor.

Give this test a try: http://www.piepalace.ca/blog/asperger-test-aq-test/

Or this one: http://www.rdos.net/eng/Aspie-quiz.php

Neither one is "official," but they may give you some clues as to whether or not you are on the spectrum and would be good starting points for talking with your doctor.

Welcome to WP! :D

It takes time to learn oneself, to measure the extent of one's strengths and one''s weaknesses.

You will come to find that the truest of true answers to your questions will come from within.

Is Seroquel the first medication your doctor gave you for depression? I don't think I'd trust my doc if he resorted to that first.

Get an official diagnosis from a certified psychologist who has experience working with young adults on the spectrum. I'm sure if you post your region someone will have a recommendation for you. Online quizzes can be helpful, but nothing will replace the counseling, experience, and evaluation that a professional can provide.

Additionally, from someone who has recently had a Asperger's diagnosis as a 33-year old, I can say it took me years to say this, but being Aspie (or Neuro-atypical, as I prefer) does not make you "not normal"

Hi- yep. For most late diagnosis adults its comfusing for ages, trying to work out what is up with you. At least getting a dx of a/s is - well, s**t but you do at least know. I like the aspie quiz best of all - its written by someone with a/s, i think, and is prtty good.

Doing some online tests will help you good luck.

The doc gave me some other stuff a year back... Anything prescribed is supposed to be for 'sleep aid'.
My moms a f*****g loon though, lots of issues. So I'm sure my doc has her suspicions; ones that I do not share.

Those psych tests are such crap too. Just confirms s**t you already know.

I suppose I should just make another appointment with the doc.

Thanks guys
