Ever since I was little I have suffered from occasional fainting episodes when I was particularly grossed out by something, school biology lessons were a nightmare. Could this be to do with AS and has anyone else suffered from this?

I used to do a lot of fainting, but probably different - standing in a too long line for hours on a hot day loaded with luggage, or, you should excuse it, having an overloaded bowel. Your grossout reaction looks like some sort of stress exclusion mechanism - I close eyes, turn away, shut down, but the system does not go down.

I've had fainting episodes, but they were connected to high levels of stress.

Yes. Even in the 1st grade I had to be sent to leave the classroom when anything health was discussed. They said I turned white and it would be hard to breathe. I would like to think the internet has desensitized me to such, but I still get away anytime someone talks about it. I also have a phobia of doctors, if that is related.

I've had episodes of fainting, that was caused by not eating, on time, or being overly tired.

I've had near-blackouts recently, cause by low blood pressure. Just need more salt. My parents are both diabetic, so I'm used to low-sodium everything.

I've lost consciousness several times from having blood tests -- watching the needle go in. And several times from other things like heat, dehydration, lack of food, or standing for a long time. Seeing gore doesn't seem to do it, though. I have a specific autonomic nervous system glitch that causes that, though (there's a test for it). Related to AS? I have no idea.

Whenever everything is so horrifying happens but mostly when I feel so stressed out, I tend to feel faintish.

I've never fainted. I've been close to fainting though (presyncope). The first time was when I was on my bike and I crashed into a car. My mom drove me home and I felt very faint all the way. The second time was when I had nothing to eat all day and my mom made me stay at church on vacation. It was very hot and humid and I just had to step outside or I'd faint. The third time I almost fainted was when I was listening to a lecture-discussion thingy (about autism and lime disease). I began feeling extremely faint. When I was about to walk out the door, I became literally blind and I began stumbling around, hitting the walls several times. That was the most scary episodes. But I've never actually lost consciousness (aside from falling asleep, of course).

Have fainted many times, usually after several high stress days in a row, not sleeping well
Have felt close to fainting (presyncopal) with being in sensory overload situations i.e. noisy cafeteria at work with bright fluorescent lights - due to the fainting episodes in the past it is hard to know whether to tough it out or get out

I've experienced a lot of fainting, but it's related to a health thing. I've never gotten seriously grossed out like that.

I fainted once when I was getting a blood test.
