I was just wondering about this....

You see my girlfriend's best mate (they've been so ever since they were at school together) often comes across as (and I'm not meaning to diss her or anything) a bimbo!! !

Now she happens to have ADHD and she's a lovely person to be with and all that, as it happens I have no issue with her in any way, after all even bimbos are human beings and I'm sure that they have their good points other than just good looks.

You see although I have no issue with this in any way whatsoever all of the Aspie women (and other girls with ADHD) I've met one of two extermes...

1. Really smart, and sometimes good looking.

2. Lacking in life skills and thus not so easy on the eye.

I was just wondering if you knew (or if there were even some WP users) that are 'bimbos?'

Please do not think that I am looking for a girlfriend as I love her for all her sweet, girly and childlike ways (although she's NOT a bimbo) but I was just wondering about this....

Goodbye Till Next Time

Well as a former "bimbo" I can guess that this facade is her way of getting people to like her. She is most likely very intelligent, but has run into people who disregard her because she may be pretty. It's hard to know if people genuinely like you for who you are, or want something from you, or just think your amusing/yet stupid to be around.

Since she is your girlfriend's best friend, I would concentrate on what your girl sees in her and ignore the rest. She must be a great person beyond the mask, and she might let her guard down if you are as accepting.

Those were my thoughts 100%!

Don't worry I don't disreagrd her and as far as I see things she's ok by me!

Goodbye Till Next Time.

What society defines as "smart" behavior and "dumb" behavior is not always correct and is not always agreed by everyone. It could be she considers her own behavior to be smart and people who disagree to just "not get it".

That's true, I must confess that I've often felt the same way about bimbos myself.

I bet if she were a Thal (from 'Doctor Who') or an Eloi girl (from 'The Time Machene' by H.G. Wells) she'd fit in like a glove.

However that said she did tell me once that she was a real tomboy and a rebel when she was at school.

When I hear the word "bimbo," I think of a female with two pounds of makeup, unusually large breasts, and clothes that not only are revealing but which are also ticky tacky.

Is this what your girlfriend's best mate look like?

No I don't know any bimbos. I suppose I screen them out, can't be bothered with people who don't think, and most people's idea of a "beautiful woman" isn't mine, so they won't get round me with their visuals.

On the other hand I don't really hold with the idea that anybody is really stupid, unless they've got real brain damage.....so a lot of apparent idiots probably don't register as such with me, if they're just uneducated or not using the extended vocabulary. I've known some women described as having high emotional brain capacity but no intellectual capacity, but those women have never struck me as being particularly non-intellectual.
