I don't know if this is a problem, as this is a first for me, but I have just received an invitation by private message to communicate by email, with an offer to enclose pictures.

The poster has sent precisely zero messages on the forum, but is "interested in love".

It's spam, lots of members have been getting it.

I just got a similar message w/o the "interested in love part", but they did give their email & offer to show their picture...

If I may ask do you know/remember the nickname of your messenger? I'm wondering if their is more than one spammer.

The sender comes across as barely literate, so I'm guessing English is not their first language. Strikes me as a clumsy phishing expedition.

So did I, and I reported it to a moderator. It is clearly phishing, for the naive and gullible.

That is the lady in question. I am naive - I did not want to name the poster in case it was a genuinely shy individual, but I would never respond to an uninvited private message.

I think alex should change it to the person must have a certain amount of posts before they could send PMs. So that way it will prevent this.

I got one saying that they had read my personal profile info and found me really interesting and wanted to get to know me better. I thought it was really funny as I haven't got anything on my profile. They must be really bored if they find that interesting. :D

Sadly, there is a very strong chance that someone on WP who is genuinely naive and vulnerable, may be ripped off by this 'babyb'.

Someone computer techy should reply to babyb, and take them out?

Yeah, mine was from babyb as well...

This has gotten me wondering what's the difference between phishing and trolling? :?

Yeah just delete them. And I agree with League_girl, it might be a good idea to have had to have posted a certain number of times before people could PM.
