I'm raising a question which seems to be accurate that NT's are scared of us. To them we are so weird, they cant understand us, and it freaks them out. Any opinions?

They say people are afraid of what they dont understand, most people dont take the time to learn about AS. Althought I wouldnt really say there afraid of us, I mean were not monsters  . However I'm sure from time to time ive creeped out NT's

People are afraid of the unknown and what they do not or cannot understand. It would not surprise me to find an NT who is afraid of someone on the spectrum.

I've never known anybody to actually be afraid of me (not to say that it hasn't happened), but I do know that people are sometimes intimidated by me at work, mostly because my primary special interest and job are the same field. :D

And I know I've definitely creeped out some NTs as well.

In my country there has recently been murders committed by people with AS, and if I come across someone talking about it in terms of how that AS must be a bad thing and they are killers, I'll look at them with dark eyes and say... I have Asperger's...........

Man.. that would be so much fun.

I have actualy pulled that off once, and the person decided to call the cops. Lets just say the cops ridiculed the person to hell then fines/arrested said person for calling the cops for no reason.

Yup. Humans are scared of what they don't understand, even if it's only subconsciously.

Two former friends come to mind here. One of them once remarked that I actually *say* things other people only *think* about, and the other, and because of that, often seemed a bit nervous whenever I came around.

LOL, that's stupid. If everyone thinks about something, there's no real reason you shouldn't say it.

Oh my goodness that must have been a sight worth seeing, the best bit is that the cops are likely to be fuming at the person for discrimination as well as time wasting.

Diagnosed under the DSM5 rules with autism spectrum disorder, under DSM4 psychologist said would have been AS (299.80) but I suspect that I am somewhere between 299.80 and 299.00 (Autism) under DSM4.

One person at my work was proud he could 'read' people. But the problem for him was my body language and behaviour was not really 'standard'; so he could not read me. He was not friendly to me, when I look back it could be he was afraid of me; because he could not predict me.

Consider this example:

I was once driving along with someone else in my truck, and we both noticed an attractive young woman walking past as we sat at a stop sign. To keep my mind where I believe it should be, I quickly remembered I have two daughters about the same age ... and when the man next to me made a lewd remark, I reminded him that was somebody's daughter.

I'm not so sure. Some people get offended when tell them they're fat for example, even if they are. If you only think it but not say it, then there is nothing to get offended about because they don't know what you're thinking.

This raises an interesting point. I have never actually considered that the problems I face with social interaction may be exacerbated by other people finding my own body language and quirks just as confusing as I find theirs. I'll be thinking about this during my near-future social experiences.

Being disliked is not the same thing as being feared. Making people nervous with one's bluntness is in no way intimidation.

No one is afraid of us. Why do you think we spend our lives being bullied by people who find us annoying because we're different, or 'hard to read'?

And stop using the term NT as though that there were actually a type of person. Neurotypical is an adjective, not a noun. Its a 'quality', not a group. Individuals can have neurotypical behaviors, but Entees don't exist.

Deep down, NT's are afraid of us. They just don't think about it or want to admit it.

I think NT's are more envious of us. You see, we get called "special" and because we humans only live once, its like they feel that they have missed out on a chance to be "special". I bet you that any NT who won $10million on the lottery would still be unhappy, because they aren't deemed "special".

NT's need to realise that having AS is nothing special, its actually a major headache and hindrance to a person's personal growth.
