I actually got the diagnos McDD and I was wondering if anyone else actually have it, not that they think they have it, 'cause there is several threads about that. I wanna know if there are more then me here who actually got the diagnos.

My BF has that, sometimes I feel like I fit the criteria for that more so than classic AS.

I dont have the diagnosis but I think I could have had it if they had investigated me. McDD fits me better than any other autism spectrum disorder and I most certainly have autistic traits in my personality. I enjoy having found this diagnosis that kind of ties things together and explains things to me, my childhood etc, and gives a reasonable explaination to things and my life. It gives increased self knowledge.

I know that I'm replying with the type of response you said you didn't want but I do think this is interesting,, in fact I wonder if my father might fit this diagnosis. He's a diagnosed schizophrenic but he reminds me of an autistic person in many ways and from what I gather about his childhood and adolescence he was more like an Aspie growing up, he began showing psychosis in his early 20's.

I sometimes remind myself of a schizophrenic when I have very disorganized thinking and also because I have an easy time disassociating from reality and any kind of structured thought processes at all, really, it's like an on/off switch but I've always been that way and I blame it on ADHD and low latent inhibition(lack of filters in the brain).

I wasn't diagnosed with MCDD, but I was diagnosed with a "complex developmental disorder" at some point.

MCDD just seems like a mixed bag of things, I doubt it exists or wonder the reason for differing it just from an autism spectrum disorder + comorbids.

'Cause you are born with McDD and those traits but comorbids is something you get + you don't need to fit all criterias for schizophrenia or bipolar/borderline to have McDD so for me I wouldn't get any help with my schizo and bipolar trits 'cause I don't have enough criterias for those disorders but with McDD I have enough criterias and then I get help for those traits too.

Hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
