When I was a kid I had a lot of sensory issues, most of which I outgrew. Tags had to be cut from clothes, no wool, several other fabrics I couldn't wear, etc.

I got used to a lot of it as I grew up, but I'm nearing fifty now, and noticing quite a few problems with fabrics, tags, and many other things becoming a real problem again. Most noticeably footwear. My feet are becoming really sensitive. I can't stand to wear shoes of any kind for long periods anymore. I hate wearing socks, and won't unless I need to put shoes on, but even soft slippers are starting to actually HURT my feet.

Anybody else near or past my age notice this same sensitive, not so sensitive, back to sensitive pattern?

I'm not near your age-- but mine became a lot worse around pubescence. And have yet to stop hindering me.

Isn't pain in the feet a sign of diabetes? or is that numbness? Something to check out perhaps.
I am a shade younger than you (35), but I have noticed that my sensitivity to smells is getting worse. Perfumes and certain cleaning products give me an instant headache.
I've always had sensitive hearing. Its not as bad as when I was younger but I still dont like the sound of most power tools, mowers, ect. I found out recently that I can hear frequencies much higher than most men my age.

I was bad as a kid, it cooled down a bit pre-teens & than spiked up again through out HS. Now I don't know if the spike has lowered as I've warned people about my sensory problems & avoiding being "set off".

No, diabetes causes nerve damage leading to numbness. The danger there is that your feet can be damaged and infected, but you may not feel it until it's too late.

This is the skin itself hurting, and only when certain materials touch my feet. It isn't really bad. Mostly just annoying as hell, but I have a very high tolerance for pain, which is weird for someone with sensory issues (again), so I kind of have to pay attention to stuff that may not hurt that much.

I am 42 now, and notice that my sensitivity to light is a little worse than it used to be.

I notice that I'm quite a bit more sensitive to light and sound, than I was in my younger years, and I've had a couple of other issues crop up, over the past 4 years. Those issues don't tie me down, though.
