Anyone not like going to weddings?

In my case, think part of it is due to sensory overload/sensory processing.

Also, when I think about it today, my mind tends to move in the direction that only 50% of marriages stay together which means the same couple might be redoing the same civil/religious ceremony again in less than ten years so I almost view the marriage ceremony as visiting a gambling table in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The above experience is often presented in terms of a God in the Sky/a god of good fortune above Las Vegas blessing the ceremony and it's complete sensory overload for me trying to put all those ideas together into a harmonious, unified whole.

Experiences?

I don't like wedding receptions. The only thing I like during a wedding is Mass.

Yes, wedding receptions follow marriage ceremonies. A wedding reception often serves a variety of foods and drinks which are not served, for some reason, during the religious ceremony known as a mass.

As you likely know, a religious service is not a wedding at all.

A wedding is an entirely different theme/idea.

Many persons around the world are married in civil, legal ceremonies or in temples and churches where religious services known as masses are never, ever conducted.

President Barack Obama and his wife were legally married without a religious ceremony known as a mass.

I hate weddings.
First there's the boring sermon/service. Then you have a boring reception where you're seated next to people you don't know or haven't seen in years for good reason. The food, which costs insane amounts of money, typically tastes like something that McDonald's would throw in the garbage. And if it's hosted by one of my relatives, they decide that I should sit at a singles table, which means I get the joy of sitting next to a bunch of obnoxious alpha males. The music is either terrible or terrible accompanied by an obnoxious DJ and is followed by speeches and photo montages of the happy couple that will likely break up in a few years. The only refuge is the frequent presence of alcohol which, with enough consumption, makes the event tolerable.

I don't enjoy weddings, either. It's just an excuse for family members to be forced into gender roles and gender specific clothes, for the entire day.

I hate weddings. It's the ultimate show-off event for a majority of people, and they're always too loud. The two I've been to recently I've stood in the corner and watched football the entire time because they only served steak and cake, things I'm allergic to.

I like weddings. I'm a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding next year. :)

Of course, then I get depressed thinking about how I want to get married someday but it's not likely to ever occur.

My brother and his sister in law said they understood if I did not want to go to their wedding.

Weddings are confusing - all the people confuse me. I don't understand why they cry. I screw up in conversation. They're frustrating and seem much ado about something I don't understand.

They rank slightly above funerals for me. Both are boring, but at funerals I inevitably think of funny things and have a hard time keeping from laughing.

At least at funerals I understand why people are crying.

I think the same as clumsybee. The ultimate show off gathering. Allmost feel good that around
half end in devorse. The wife and I just did the legal marage thing after living together for twenty years
(had only ten people in total for the event)
The reason for doing it was to make damded sure her family would not just come along and boot me out
of her house when she dies .We desided to get married on one of our many trips to the hospital emergency when
she was really having trouble breathing.
Yeah a wedding sure drives home the point that I am not a NT
The ones that I have been to in my younger days are just a drunken bad memory
I just can not talk to people for any time at all so generaly I am just a fish out of water

Exactly this.
