I read Monk's Wittgenstein biography. I think that he was very probably an Aspie.

if you followed wittgenstein you would not ask that question, it would be better to ask the question of whether it makes a difference to wittgenstein whether you post mortemly ascribe a syndrome to him which didnt exist in his life time and was only thought about shortly before his death

Regardless of the label, I suspect Wittgenstein was as aware that he was different as we all are.

From Wikipedia:

It was examined by Russell and Moore; at the end of the thesis defence, Wittgenstein clapped the two examiners on the shoulder and said, "Don't worry, I know you'll never understand it."[33

unlike a lot of the historical figures sometimes described as such, i think Wittgenstein really was. indeed, unless he was both gay & Asperger's, his life doesn't make any sense at all.
