Basically, I was shopping (bearing that I had a very disruptive mind today), and I happened to talk to a lady who was in the queue behind me. I was about to start unloading my shopping when an old woman who was behind the woman I was talking to said:

"Are you gonna unload or stand there and talk all day?"

This had really pissed me off, because I was just lifting up a carton of soya milk. And then I completely lost it.

"Why don't you go and shut the f*ck up. You see I'm unloading, now shut it!"
(I've asterisked it btw...)

"Don't mess with me sunshine. Stop talking and start unloading.", she then replied. (Fair enough, I'd told her to stfu...)

Then I said:

"Oh, so is it now illegal to converse with people whilst waiting to be served?" (And conversing to strangers, that's very rare of me!)

"I wasn't saying that....", she then replied.

"So maybe you should'nt have said anything in the first place then..."

Then she didn't say anything, but I felt really horrible afterwards on the bus back... :'( .

The key question for me is: Why are some old people really stupid/cheeky/miserable? I'd really like to know!

Thanks

I had a lady b***h at me in the express line once for having 8 items but it was the 7 items or less. She goes "Can't you count?" So I said "Yes. one and a two" (I gave her the middle finger on each hand representing one and two 8) ). The cashier just about s**t her pants laughing at the wise-ass lady behind me.

The last senior who insulted me was promptly told he was late for his appointment at the morgue.

You successfully stood up for yourself. You should be proud, not guilty.

I don't think I have ever ran into any of these situations but when I was 18 my dad was opening up a checking account for me and there were people waiting behind us. They start to get impatient so I eventually started to get irritated by them and called them out on their impatience. Then they said they had a basketball game to get to and I said to my dad out loud "That explains their rude behavior." But c' mon it wouldn't kill them to miss the beginning of the game and did they have to go to the bank now? They could have come back another time. But I mostly ignored them. They were the aspies I would say since they were so inflexible and impatient and I was the NT.

I didn't get into any drama with them. Sometimes rude people are fun to mess with so I would rather go even slower to drive them crazy. Good thing my dad and I never decided "Oh we will do this another time" so that was good enough to drive those folks crazy. Even the banker was ignoring them too and kept serving us.

Being old must be miserable. People with miserable lives are in bad moods and their attitude and comments reflect that.

A lot of people with "disabilities" can be the same. I know I'm pretty short-tempered at times, when things keep going badly for a while.

And by the comments you made, it seems like you're in the same boat as me and the old witch.

All I will say is someone caused me to have
a seizure, long story short, ended up in
hospital, dad countersued some old bag
who struck me, causing the seizure.

Being old (or being anything else) doesn't give people a licence to be a snot.
Do one "hail thyself" and punch a pillow. If you still feel bad in the morning, do it again.

She was rude to you first. Maybe not the most diplomatic way to answer, but much better that then letting her get away with it. :thumleft:

hehe @FireMinstrel: I had schizo thoughts on that, was it a good thing or not! haha
@Bluefins: Yeah definitely. What was bad though, there was a little kid there too, with the profanity I came up with, I kinda felt bad... :'( :D
