Looking back at my childhood and some issues as an adult sadly I've always upset people. Back in Elementary I was told "Think before you act." I feel I never have. I almost got fired from a job since the topic of sexual harrassment got brought up (I was jumping on/hugging a coworker a lot). She said she warned me of the issue, but I think I tend to "block" things out. As if it goes in one ear out the other. With the teacher issue (which I will not repeat the whole thing for the billionth time) just I remember her giving me warnings to some extent but I "blocked" them out. It's not until suspension ALMOST fired that I see ok maybe that was wrong and yet I try to look at these things logically. Are they wrong from an NT view yes NT's see my behavior as strange wrong etc. but I've tried to analyze and understand WHY I did these behaviors and upset this coworker & teacher. You guys know of my family issue so yes the teacher became towards the end (I rather interact with my Psychology Teacher than go home) :-( As sad as that may sound. and the coworker as well she was nice to me. (Doesn't explain hugging/jumping though). So I ask do people on the spectrum let things go in one ear out the other or basically do not understand what is "acceptable behavior?" (Not sure if that'd fall under social skills or what.) Thanks.

To quote my wife, who ought to know, I am low on imagination. Spewcifically, I can not imagine how a [to me] perfectly neutral statement or action could interact with someone elses's imagination [sometimes hers] with disastrous results. I keep WRONGLY expecting that innocent intent will be received as innocent action.
