I don't know how to describe this but i always laugh alot when someone talksvto me when i have high anxiety or don't understand them and then i thank them over and over cause i don't know what to say to them and this happens whoever i am talking to. Or i say "thank you so much" over and over and even yesterday the person talking to me on the phone said "you are welcome so much". I feel like i am putting on this act though i have good intentions.I have certain phrases that i say and i get chipper but i am not inside i am so anxious. Anyone else do this?

I repeat myself in pretty much all verbal communication, unless I script it first.

It's partly social anxiety and partly because I'm a very repetitive person.

Everythime i meet some people i have no problem to interact, i always say 'hi!', even if i have meet them two minutes before. My brother gets annoyed by this.

Wow I do the same thing. I'm very nervous when I talk to people. I keep saying thank you a lot, pretty much I think I do it because I can't understand why they would want to even have a conversation with me. I repeat the last thing people say to me often because I'm nervous, I don't know how to respond, or am completely uninterested in what they just told me and trying to find a way to be polite and then get back to my side of what I want to talk about. Also it gives me time to think up my answer and process what they are saying. 8)

People get the impression that I'm not listening to them if I don't respond. I'm not looking them in the eye and my face is pretty deadpan. What I'm really doing is listening very carefully and processing what they say. I show this by repeating polite pleasantries. It must look pretty weird.

I repeat both myself and other people.

I usually repeat sentences if they didn't respond in the way which fits my script, or generally if I'm excited and I tell the same person something again, or when other people speak I find myself repeating some words they're saying.

I have a habit/urge to repeat the last thing people say even if I'm not in the conversation. I say it loud and repeat it a few times. Sometimes I feel excited by certain, random words and I've just got to yell them out. That is probably more my tics. I'm relieved to know I'm not alone in that.

Same here.
