Hi guys.

I'm a psychology geek, and I'm often finding myself drowning in some new theory or another. Before I knew anything about Aspergers, I had taken a personality test known as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI).

Once I learned about Aspergers, I read somewhere in my research that, due to our 'condition', the results of the test may be affected differently than it would when an NT takes it. Now, the MBTI attempts to explain brain functions by breaking them down into four dichotomies:

(I)ntroverted vs. (E)xtroverted
(S)ensing vs. i(N)tuition
(T)hinking vs. (F)eeling
And lastly, (J)udging vs. (P)erceiving.

I have taken multiple written versions of the test. Each time, my results were ambiguous. I would score an even amount on Introversion/Extroversion, Thinking/Feeling, and Judging/Perceiving. In fact, the only area I dominated was Intuition. The dominant answer I receive from online tests, however, is INFJ. There are 16 types in total.

So I am interested in your results! I want to see more Aspies take this quiz, but I'm definitely interested in NT results too!

The quiz can be found here, as well as explanations to the functions and other details...

It asks for an email, but I usually put in a fake one. It doesn't send any junk mail aside from your results, regardless.

I suppose I should have mentioned it would be nice to classify your distinction between NT/Aspie first. Lol.

INFJ/P hm? It's harder for me to get along with this test because I effectively cover half the type spectrum...

I've taken a few. I'm always an INTP though not strongly so in any 'quadrant'(?) except (I)

I identify as a self diagnosed aspergian.

Could it be that Aspies favor one dichotomy and the others simply level out? This is quite interesting.

Most aspergians would top out in the (I) I imagine.

You'd probably like to see this thread/poll

INFJ when I answer with how I want to behave (on time, tidy etc.), INFP when I answer with how I actually behave. The tests for these aren't very good because they assume that if you want to be organised, you will be, and if you're always late and stuff it must be because you don't value punctuality and predictability very much. They ignore the role of executive functionality in behaviour.

The MBTI is also used by ignorant people to trivialise the potential seriousness of conditions like AD/HD and AS and to claim that the diagnosis of these things has no value or is harmful. I used to like it but that put me off the whole thing.

I consistently get INTP with only P and J being close. Surprised to see so many F's here, doesn't seem logical.

S: 63%

P: 95%

I have received all these results:

ISTJ (Don't know why)
INFP
INFJ
ISTP
ISFP
INFJ
ESFP
ENFP
ESTJ

INTJ, with only J and P being close. Self-diagnosed Aspie.
