Yeah, this seems to be the new trend, diagnosing everyone with As. ADD went through a similar thing back in the 90s

Society has a way of taking things and blowing them out of proportion.

Woody Allen maybe. But Keanu Reeves just has no personality.

I remember back in the early 70's when everyone was being tested for the new mental health scourge "Manic-Depression" I was tested and they said because I did not have the 'lows' and my 'highs' were too high, I couldn't have their newest flavor . . .
and they 'dismissed' me.

If autism is the new gay: then I guess I'm the AS equivalent of Quentin Crisp.

Some of us are said to have no personalities either... he's just a terrible actor.

A friend of mine used to work as an extra in movies. He got to eat dinner at the same table as Keanu Reeves. From how my friend described him Keanu does sound like an Aspie. I might also add Keanu has that forehead slant and Aspie stare characteristic of AS men.

Look celebrities are not always how they appear in the movies or even in interview shows. They have people to train them in every aspect of their behavior. They have assistants who are by their side 24/7 if they want them. They can coach someone how to behave and exactly what to say in interviews. The interviews are canned and they usually get to designate what they are asked. An AS celebrity could also be heavily drugged into acting "appropriate".

There have also been rumours over the years that Ray Davies of The Kinks was gay. He appears to have AS, as well.

I could see Andy Warhol being autistic. Definitely. Woody Allen is just deranged I think. Not sure who the Quentin person is.

I think the lead singer for the Cure has Aspergers. Also think Kate Bush is definitely AS. Also suspect Jane Wiedlin and Tori Amos are AS as well.

Why has it become cool to be autistic all of a sudden?

I don't think anyone said it was cool. Its just becoming popular to have a label to blame one's shortcomings on. Even among real Aspies, some tend to lean on their label a little too much.

This guy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quentin_Crisp

I wasn't suggesting that he was a celebrity with AS; just that I'm as obviously Aspie on the surface as he was gay on the surface.
