have you ever been subject to this statement by others?
i was looking over some old videos of my friends and i goofing off and i noticed how silly and obtuse and i was compared to the other kids who reacted to my behavior with disdain. i think my behavior was a way of dealing with the anxiety of being expected to behave normally as if i didn't know when to stop and just shut the hell up, my own supposed friends would go so far as to say nobody likes you. so i later went on to find being inhibited was safer than being myself. sound familiar to anyone?

Yes. Lot of people didn't like me when I was little. I can very well see why.

Ahh, nostalgia...

Yeah, most notably in elementary school/middle school when children still can't tell their left from their right.

I remember those memories. I don't miss them, at all.

If I had a dollar for the amount of times I've heard that statement throughout my life I would be able to buy myself a decent car.

I haven't had anyone say that to me in a long time, but I've had people say "you don't like anyone" a couple times, which I think is true.

Mee tooooooo. I was told that as well as "your ugly!" and all. I was even told "nobody likes you because you are ugly". Since it was apparent no one liked me (I had no friends), I reasoned that this must be true, LOL. It did get better in college though.

Ya, people didn't like me. Some kids even told me We don't like you, Valoy! You're f...ed up!
Now people generally still don't like me. Some people like, but they're not my friends. And I'm never sure if they're honest.

I heard that daily for many years, i still hear it to this day. I can never get an explanation when i ask, they just say "i dunno, i just dont like you, and neither do they"

That's a cruel thing to say to anybody (I guess that's obvious, but still). I could not ever say that, or believe that, about anybody. Makes one wonder WHO would say such a thing, and why.

But you have friends now, and on the Wrong Planet :) So, they're wrong in addition to being terribly cruel and thoughtless.

I heard it once, but I was an adult already and it made me feel so bad, but at the same time opened my eyes to the reality, so in the end I think it was necessary to hear such a thing.
