Education media for autistic children
My 8 year old son diagosed autistic leaned his multiplication tables through 12 last year in a week from watching math facts videos from Preschool Prep.
I cannot find very many educational videos tailored towards autistic children and his age range. He worms from repetition and visual. Sometimes when I seen him a math question he will look up by the wall as though he is looking at a chart or diagram.
I am surprised that no one has tapped into this Market unique learners and hope I am wrong.
If anyone can show me an entire series of videos of different subjects that are made to just for autistic Learners please do thank you
I do this too. It helps me think if I look away from distractions.
We on the spectrum all have different learning styles, so there is no such thing as "austistic learners" style. There is no one size fits all approach for us.
I like the Khan Academy videos and courses. They helped explain a lot of concepts to me. I think they cover all age ranges. I like that the man talks very clearly, goes slow and repeats, and that he uses many different colored pens.
Home Ed was the best decision I ever made for my youngest son(I taught him between the ages of 6yrs and 18 years.) He’s since gone onto Actor’s College and now University(hopes to become a Director). I remember how quickly times tables learning was learned thanks to a Times Tables CD we used, and Star Wars Maths cdroms, among other fun activities. We used Letts as well as the fun Schofield & Sims colourful and fun books for each subject as well as lots of hands on experiences and visits to places and science museums etc. Pre-Covid we were able to travel to places to make the learning even more interesting. With Covid, you can visit museums etc online and alot of books etc have been made available for free online for home educators. I used to enjoy putting out the latest Home Ed News and Resources, Blogs etc. Will include the link ... there are so many great resources available today for Home Ed and different styles of teaching. Wishing you and your son all the best on this exciting new way of life for you ... http://www.aspie-editorial.com/educationhome-ed-articles/
