He wonders how you make your choices. He wonders why you to make other choices than what
he would make.
He wonders why you do things that are seemingly against your own self interest.
He can't read your face or your body, he can't tell what you are thinking. He wonders why he can't understand his own son.
unfortunately, he doesn't have a lot of tact
the wonder of how you make your choices completely excapes his ability to imagine your inner life. I think the word he is looking for is 'unusual' in stead of stupid. People who can read facial expressions and body language have it so encoded into their conciousness they really can't grasp the idea that someone who is able to tune in only 10% of what they use to communicate. They have no idea why other people can't pick up on all that, because they have never lived with out that ability.
It's easy to imagine being blind, just close your eyes. And hold your ears and you can understand what deafness is. Have a cold and you know what it is like to not have the sense of taste or smell. But how do you get someone that can't turn off the facial expressions/body language dance to understand we aren't
stupid, we just don't understand that body language very well.
I think we do pretty well if you think we really don't understanding 90% of what is going on in the world!
