Getting Together A Meeting For Aspies with Alcoholism

I live in southern Cali and right now San Diego CA and I have had my problems with main stream AA and have had a hard time quite fitting in there because I am Aspie so I was looking to start an AA group for people who have Aspergers Autisim and alcoholism if there is not one already going on. It would be a meeting focused on recovery and having Aspergers. At least for me I find that process and deal with information differently then other AAs do and so I have to work the program a little different then main stream AA. I thought that I would get a group of people together that had both Aspergers and alcoholism so that we can meet up and do a real meeting but for people like me. If there is something like this already happening I would love to know about it if not I would love to get together with a couple of people and start this thing going. I was thinking maybe a weekly thing. Other then that the rest of the details would have to be worked out. Anyway let me know if you are willing to help and live here in the San Diego area and would be into something like this. Thank you.

Looking back, I think I have met several Aspies in various Twelve-Step meetings over the years ... but never as a group of their/our own. With the Steps, it might help you to know the 12&12 is not a workbook -- it was written for a much different purpose -- and that the only directions anywhere for actually taking the Steps can only be found within the A.A. "Big Book" ... and I would gladly try to help you see how that works.
