How surprised were you when you realized you had a subtle perceptual difficulty such as:

Color blindness

Central auditory processing disorder (CAPD/APD)

Face blindness (prosopagnosia)

Inability to see perfect 3D (imperfect vision)

Perception of motion/blindness to motion/movement challenge

and so on?

When it became clear I had central auditory processing disorder, I was surprised but accepted the term as being, in my case, accurate and the term CAPD was able to explain a lot of my everyday behavior.

Experiences?

I have a cognative disorder. mostely with, processing information. once the info goes in it usually get sucked into a black hole never to see reality again!

I think this is why i cant drive, because the information gets confused in the master computer causing me to panic

Not at all surprised. SOMEWHAT surprised when I found out other people did NOT. A bit surprised pleasantly on finding WP and that others share pieces of the package.

Not surprised; I knew my perception was different. I just thought "Oh wow, there's a name for it."

With the exception of the CAPD, I don't think I was ever so oblivious to myself that I was surprised other's functioned differently than me.

I was just a bit intrigued how others perceived certain things in comparison to myself on occasion.
