Questions about you and your family & possibly a few questionnaires.

The diagnosis (link!) is likely to be set based upon the DSM-IV-TR (link!) and/or the ICD-10 (link!)

Could be several sessions including private and group talks with your parents, with and without you being present at either.

No scary needles, no Pennywise,

No problem.

Good Luck with the diagnosis,
Autie or not you're welcome as always

Cheerfully,
Wallourdes

p.s.: Yes, that clown scares me from time to time :?

Not possible for me. I haven't spoken to my parents in ten years or more. They were somewhat abusive. Any history is going to have to come from me (I have an appointment in 4 weeks.)

it's not impossible to diagnose without, but someone (preferably parents, but caretakers, siblings, friends of the family, school teachers, etc. are fine too) from your childhood and specificly pre-toddler and toddler age are preferable for certain diagnosis because the symptoms aren't covered up by altering social behaviour just yet at those times.

Good luck with the diagnosis!

(I edited it a few times because I couldn't get the right words out in the first time)

All ancient history. We moved regularly, school records are god knows where. I had zero (literally) friends in school. I was the spaced out weirdo in my family (lot's of other such pejoratives were regularly applied to me). I can give some pretty good descriptions of things as far back as pre school (some things almost photographic). That will have to do.

They gave me a mathematics test.
A reading comprehension test.
A test where I used blocks to reproduce an image with the blocks
A test where I had to name all the animals I could think of as quickly as possible
A test to name all the words I can think of that began with the letter H
I had to put pins in a hole as quickly a possible using one hand
There was a test where I put shapes in a catergory
I had to find what was wrong with a picture
I was asked what was the most commonly spoken language
I was asked who wrote Alice in wonder land
There were some other triva questions that I forgot about but were common
Several tests for memory
They gave me a list of questions for my parents to fill out and mail in.

The test took 7 hours I tested in the average range due to memory issues in the IQ part and above average in the verbal IQ. 8)

Whatever you do do not pretend to be NT. I usually can come off as NT after years of practice and I do not really know I am doing it until a friend or a co-worker catches me acting autistic and makes a comment on it. So try not to fake or force eye contact.

The test I took with the doctor was 4-5 hours long. Expect to be under the microscope, and answer the questions as normal, and truthful as possible to get the best results!

good luck. 8) :pig:
