Does anyone every experience this, like you walk by a bunch of guys and they made fun of the way you talk even if they haven't heard your voice, or they talk nasaly to their friends when they see you. Or they say hi, or try to get you to speak to them, sensing that they probably would not do this if in this same situation, they realized you were an NT. I experienced both of these senarios this evening.

Yes!

I remember - vividly - walking down a dark alley when I was a kid (it's not like it sounds) and two people were walking towards me. I must have been silhouetted by the light behind me; they began to make fun of me by talking like I had an IQ in single figures and needed a diagram to tie my shoe laces. It wasn't until I got to within a few feet of them that I hear "Oh god! it's you - my name -, why are you being like that?" It was my SISTER and her best friend.

I guess we aspies have a certain something about us, which makes people see us differently.

I'm sorry you are going through this, and I do understand what you mean.

That doesn't help much does it?

Incidentally, this is when I realized that my sister is a mean person - as she did this to what she thought was a stranger!

No shock, we don't speak much!

I haven't spoken to her since she demanded I dump my boyfriend (now husband) because he was/is American!

We live by our own standards, and I'm honored to live in the USA and be married to my husband who happens to be an American. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have two distinct advantages: 1. I look like an ex football (American) player; 2. I look pissed off all the time. Most people don't f**k with me, but I also have a HORRIBLE temper. I have calmed with age, but not that much. I say if punks want to pick on people they should be ready to receive the same treatment.

I didn't care what stupid teenagers thought when I was a teenager and I certainly don't care what they think now that I'm an adult.

You're lucky.

Where I grew up, people didn't think bad things about others, and not express their feelings physically.

It's no different for adults.

I wish I could have grown up somewhere where nasty thoughts would have only been thoughts.

I'm a chick and look sixteen, most NT male teens try to hit on me. If they made fun of me I would probaby sock them....same for an adult making fun of me. I bring m pet lizard with me everywhere so people will be too distracted by her to notice their is something "off" about me. I seem to give off this, "don't f**k with me or I will hurt you" vibe. My voice is aparently normal and I think the thing some AS people have with their voice is manly expirenced by males but I could be wrong. If someone did try to hurt or make fun of me, I would hurt them back. If people stare at me and I don't have my lizard with me, I stick my tounge out at them.

Yes, I'm made fun of on a daily basis since I work with teenagers. They can be quite brutal. I genuinely like teenagers though so when I give it back to them it's playful even if it is a cutting banter. They like it - to my students it's like play.

Teenagers haven't got fully developed frontal lobes so they can say things that are completely socially unacceptable and not realize that they're behavior is really out of line. The only way to deal with them is to be brutally honest back at them. A little wit goes a long way. They are easily out maneuvered just because their scope is necessarily more limited than that of an adult. It can actually be a lot of fun.

I didn't mean it this way, what I was thinking is if I was an NT and they realized I was, would they perform these shorts of actions? In reality, I'm definately not an NT.

I'm quite the opposite. I often wonder why guys act the way the do, why do they always seem mad and never smile. People must wonder why I always seems happy and tend to smile alot. Must be a reason why they think I'm gay. When I watch Mozart and the Whale, there was that one female character in the movie that kind of reminded me of myself.

If those kids had been by theirselves and not in a group I can garantee that they would not have had the balls to say anything coward and idiots feel braver in groups.

Sorry I delete my message. I just mean maybe the fact I know Judo probably makes my body language more confident that they don't do it to me and OP could do something about it if it really bothers him.
