Select "Weight IAT" button on the page

Mine said I had strong preference for thin people, but I really do think the way the test is setup is flawed, since it is a complex question, I've been attracted to people who are overweight and people who are underweight, like is her face and body in proportion and whatnot. Anyway I thought it was cool so I'm passing it on.

right where I thought I would be

Your data suggest little to no automatic preference between Fat People and Thin People.

I think all of my biases are pretty conscious.

I think I took the wrong test  - I took the "featured test" which was all about male-female, extrovert-introvert, warm-cold, dependable-careless, calm-anxious and creative-conventional.

According to the results, I show no difference in my associations between self and male or female (what does that mean?); slight associations between self and introverted, and self and creative; moderate associations between self and warm, self and careless; strong association between self and calm.

Unfortunately the results didn't highlight differences between my conscious self-assessed personality traits and those returned by the rapid sorting task. It also didn't explain the male-female result.....are males normally supposed to show a stronger association between self and male?

Slight introversy and creativity is consistent with my conscious idea of these traits in myself - I have no idea how creative or introverted I am. I like to think I'm a warm person, I can be careless (though I pride myself on meticulous work), and certainly these days I'm fairly calm, so no surprises at all. :(

It's a fascinating idea, testing out personality traits by a means which isn't open to self-deception. I'd love to do some of those pupil-dilation tests where they show you photos and you compare your conscious preferences with the ones your eyes show. I read that people on diets often think they don't like fattening foods but their pupils dilate when they see the stuff.

Must say I think it's important to study these things. If unconscious traits and preferences really exist, we could probably avoid a lot of unhappiness by finding out where we're wrong about our own view of ourselves. And if they don't, then we'd better know about it, and stop worrying. But I find it hard to believe there's no such thing as unconscious mental activity.
