Are you more motivated in certain rooms?

At school I noticed the amount of work I get done depends on what room I'm in. Also I feel very unmotivated in my own house but more so at school. Some environments I feel are more threatening. What's your take?

Absolutely. For me it's all about lighting. I need bright, white, non-yellow light coming from above me to feel my best. Dull light really has a strong negative effect on my mood.

I find it very hard to concentrate when there are other people talking, or even just sitting close to me. Any kind of overstimulation brings down both my motivation and the quality of my work. I can be picky about sensory things, like carpet. I am very motivated in the campus library, which is very peaceful and organized. I work pretty well in my dorm too, once I go offline. When I'm at home for the weekend I feel very unmotivated...for some reason I've always felt this way about home, even before I started college.

Haha, jpfudgeworth that exactly describes my room but I'm still not motivated in here.

The arrangement and lighting of a room makes a huge difference for me. I redecorated my room this summer and completely changed the energy in it. I spend way more time in it now than I used to.

i live in a studio apartment, so i cant afford to feel uncomfortable in such a small place!

Besides poor lighting, I get drained by clutter. I am not an easily organised person. My natural environment if I let it is to have mountains of papers and books. It can distracting and overwhelming, so I need a least one clean room to go to if I want to be productive. Another thing that I have difficulty with is it being too quiet. I'll start hearing clocks ticking, bugs chirping outdoors and all sorts of creaks and bumps. Often I'll turn a TV on in another room to where I can hear it, but not to the point I can make out what is being said.

Yes! Clutter makes me distracted and tired. It's almost impossible for me to focus on things even if I really want to do them. I start to kinda feel like I'm going crazy... I had to live in a cluttered environment for the last year and a half (roommates) and I had a lot of times where I just shut down and would sit in one place for a really long time without moving or remembering. I work pretty well in a classroom at school -- I just like a structured environment. I almost CAN'T function in clutter ... things stacked randomly on each other and spilled over and dirty kitchens etc. :[ "Organized clutter" is fine with me... like... if things aren't put away properly, but it's because someone has a project out or the room just looks kind of lived in, as long as the place that things are in makes sense to my mind.

I REALLY LOVE COZY ROOMS~ Lots of soft things and places to sit and lay, but still with some good space to spread things out and draw or paint... I LOOOVE COZY ROOMS TwT I will snuggle in and stay all day somewhere that's cozy and soft and if I have markers and paper~

Mostly the kitchen and my gym room in my backyard.
