I've said on this forum recently that I like having Aspergers due to the fact that I'm not a sheep or just "any other person" with a boring 9-5 job, average to ugly girlfriend/wife, boring friends, and life that involves getting drunk and being crazy in large crowds to keep up an image.

What I hate about Aspergers is the obsession part. For me it's an obsession with women, their appearance in particular. It's not even so much sex as much as it is wanting to touch them. I think about this literally all day (it's my special interest) then I go to sleep and dream about it.

Before this, it was an obsession with love and the idea of falling in love. Now that Hollywood like fantasy has been replaced by real life experience, that's out the window and I pretty much see attractive women as objects. They don't respect me; I don't respect them. And frankly, I don't like this.

The way Cockney thinks about the Kinks 24/7, that's me and the women obsession.

I was going to go to a therapist about it who specializes in OCD and AS, but he didn't accept my insurance.

my perseverations don't bother me, but the fact that nothing in my life works properly and consistently, does.

The thing I hate the most about having AS is that I'm not high-functioning enough to have a job, drive, or live independently.

I can't be in a crowded room for more than 30 minutes.

I'm afraid of the vaccuum cleaner.

I'm tired of being clumsy and not being able to process information quickly enough.

I'm tired of sucking at math.

Erm, you're still just like evey other person, you just have an ASD. I don't see anything in your description that can't be found in most run-of-the-mill NT introverts.

I also don't see what's so horrible about "normal" people.

Bingo

I also hate the fact that I do not like to be touched or be able to touch someone. This is one thing I would like to fix. It has gotten me into really mean spirited arguments. It has also gotten me accused of being molested as a child then the person who accused me used it as a way to bully me.

Obsessive thinking and general incompetence are my big two. I get the impression if it weren't women it would be another obsession. General incompetence...I don't have the processing skills or coping skills to handle any kind of task and am easily stressed or overwhelmed. Will likely never drive, have any job more than 10 hours a week, and will likely live with parents until they get old and pass away, and then live with my brother or in a group home.

+ Obsessions
+ Possible auditory processing issues [which I'm planning to get checked out]
+ Interpersonal difficulties - I hate feeling lonely

The name. People are cruel and something that sounds like deficated Big Macs is going to attract name calling and harassment. Also, the ignorance of other people. Sure, people can beignorant about anything; but it seems that only people who personally know someone with AS are the only people who know what it is. Even phycatrists are't that keen.

My favorite part of AS is special intrests and obsessions.

One aspect of Asperger's that has been a slight problem for me is the extreme obsessiveness I partake in. Sometimes, I tend to obsess over morbid subjects, such as school shootings, and it gets me a little depressed, but I can't stop obsessing over it.

Other aspects that are an inconvenience for me are my social awkwardness and my inability to focus at times.

I hate feeling so emotionally disconnected from other people, like I could never be 'close' to anyone. The obsessive interests can be distracting and they control my life. I wish I could be more 'spontaneous' and not have to plan everything in advance. I'm tired of not understanding jokes and sarcasm, taking things literally all the time, and not understanding other people and their intentions and emotions.
