I am 43 and have been forced to go back to school because the economy collapsed.

23's still a baby in terms of office culture. Even if you were in the regular workforce at 23 the other people would still constantly reference how young you were. People still like to point out how everything was before my time or treat me like I'm a lot younger than they are (even when I've been older).

23 and still in college is not weird.

I didn't finish my associate degree for 11 years. And I'd still be taking classes if I had time.

No degree at 23? That isn't a bad thing at all, my mum had to go to university and get her degree in nursing at 48!!

Not rare. Not even one deviation from the norm.

I'll be turning 30 soon and I haven't earned a degree yet. If everything had gone smoothly, I ought to have earned my first academic degree at 24, but instead I switched my studies and now I am a good bit overdue for a degree in my new study subject already. Just keep working towards your degree. It's more important to get that slip of paper at all than to get it at the time people expect you to get it at.

I am 52 and still need a few classes to complete a degree. I couldn't handle the stress.

To the OP:

My dad is 52 and in school while working at the same time because he can barely afford to get by.

You're SO NOT a rarity.

I'm 27 and still working on a B.A.

I couldn't afford school anymore and had to go to work. Now, I work 50+ hours a week and can only take the occasional online class.

Wish my parent's could've afforded to let me sit in a dorm room and do nothing but go to class like some of the spoiled brats I know.

I've enrolled a few times, but never managed to stick it out, so still being in school is a step ahead of me. :)
