I can't read that. She killed him by making him drink bleach. That's horrible! I wish there was a way to send her to a prison for men as punishment.

May I ask why you would want her to go to a prison for men?

Because the rest of her life would suck more there.

It's obvious from the article that the mother suffered from a severe mental health problem... I imagine the rest of her life is going to suck anyway... She didn't kill her son because she hated autistics, but because she loved him so much she couldn't bear the idea of him being taken away. She was obviously completely wrong to behave the way she did, I don't condone it, but she did love her son. And she's obviously going to suffer for the rest of her life anyway because the child she loved so much is now dead at her hand.

Why would you want her to go to a male prison where she'd be raped and abused? What a vile and horrible thing to wish. This woman, as well as needing condemnation, needs compassion.

Totally out of place comment but I think it's been said now.

It's terrible that there is no understanding in society. I just wish they could have informed her about the options and what is best before she did this.

According to the story, they attempted to work with her many times before she did this. According to the story, she always refused to cooperate, behaved unreasonably and irresponsibly, and threatened to kill herself by drinking bleach if anyone interfered. It's clear that she was mentally ill in some unspecified way and needed to be receiving mental health care herself, and not be put in charge of a severely disabled child, or any child for that matter.

I find articles like this sad. The mother obviously had schizophrenia so the voices were telling her to do it so she did it because she couldn't cope with her son going to be taken away so she killed him and then attempted to kill herself.

The men will definitely do serious harm to her. But I do have to agree in some way. A parent who does something like this to their child is just pure evil and I have no respect or compassion for parents who do this. May this boy rest in peace and let this sadistic child killer suffer the consequences. I don't know about the UK justice system though. I still think about that mother in Texas who drowned her kids. I thought she was going to get the chair or needle, but no she's in some mental hospital. Sure killers may use "I'm insane" as a excuse to escape death row.

Andrea Yates. They don't use the chair and quit using it in the 60's. They use lethal injection and she did ask to be executed because it would "save her life" she said. But no she got put in a mental hospital instead and she even admitted she knew what she did was wrong but did it anyway because she thought she was a bad mother and was ruining her kids so she sent them off to a better place. She had PPD.

At least she was honest about her actions.

This makes my brain lock up. I spent too much time wishing my mother would kill me and get it over with because I thought she was going to some day. She was terrifying to my child's mind.

Mental instability causes damage, even if death isn't involved. Clearly, the woman in this story was not all that stable. Was she evil? Hard to say. I suspect there was at least some small part of her that knew she was doing something bad.
