Does anybody spend time in the washroom especially in front of the mirror making stupid faces/grimmices and trying to imitate short verses that make no sense but are kinda imitations from movies or stuff you found others say that you found funny. And when you do that do you get like an emotional high. Why do I do this, either just plain stupidity. I've been doing this my whole life and I'm not sure why. Any clue?

I'm sure I make odd faces without realizing it, but not on purpose and not in the mirror.

I tend to have bits and pieces of dialogue from movies/TV (and lines from songs) in my head all the time, for a number of reasons--they're funny, personally meaningful or just "there" for no specific reason.

I do sometimes talk to myself, and this "dialogue" can become incorporated into it at times. I wouldn't say I get an "emotional high," but these "conversations" have helped me solve problems.

I'm not sure if this is what you meant, but that's what I experience.

Even if these situations are at all similar, I can't give you a real "reason" because I don't really know why I do it, either.

I talk aloud a lot. It helps me think and often I talk some kind of gibberish or repeat some word I heard or a snipit of conversation or dialog that goes over and over in my mind. It does feel good but I have no idea why. I like to make funny faces too when noone is looking (or only a trusted loved one) but only occationally in the mirror. I also can't help repeating certian words I hear others say on the radio or tv that are in a forigne accent that somehow sound appealing for a reason I can't articulate but will now consider.

I talk to myself far too much. Some of it is witty and funny, most of it is just an externalized monologue helping me to make sense of whatever I'm doing.

No, but I have long, drawn out, hypothetical conversations with people (usually estranged family) in the shower every morning. If I didn't do this out loud it might not seem so weird.

yes, I dunno if it is an autism/aspergers thing..could be who knows..

I make crazy faces, laugh a crazy laugh, makes noises, yell in funny voices, sing in a language that I do not know, jump around but that is around the house when I am alone. But when I am in the bathroom mostly just funny faces.

Yes! I did this daily until I was around 12 years old. Haven't done it since though I do like the mirror.

PS The more I hang out on this forum the more I realize I'm home =) Extremely weird yet comforting knowing others like this out there.

Yes. I am great at talking to people I pretend to be there. I imagine what they would answer, then I speak back. I never
"hear voices," or for one moment believe they are there. It's a great way to unwind and usually it is a safe way to say what you mean. I mean, it's far safer to tell an authority figure what you think of him this way than to do it in actuality. But it is like picking your nose. You don't want to get caught doing it.

I'm an NT and I talk to myself a lot when I'm alone, because it helps me think clearly and sort things out in my head more logically. And I make faces in the mirror too.
