I lived in a fantasy world as a kid. and aparently still do because I won't give up my goal of becoming a veternarian. I think people are actually just jelous that they didn't follow their dreams and let others convince them they couldn't. When they see someone who is not going to give up they label them "stuck and stuck in a fantasy world.

I wonder, what is so wrong about being stuck in a fantasy world? I've been stuck in the Star Wars universe for almost 25 years, and I have no plans to leave. I like it here. It is a place which makes far more sense to me than the "real world."

I've been living in a fantasy world since I was 5, and I don't plan on moving out anytime soon.

I live in a time warp, but I don't know if that would qualify as living in a fantasy world.

I lived in a Tiny Toons world from age 3 to seven and then I lived in a Lion Kng fantasy world from age seven to the present.

I live in a bleak "cyberpunk" dystopia. But I don't think it's a fantasy world... it's the world we all live in at this point, and I'd rather not sugarcoat it.

You should follow your dreams. If you don't, then you risk getting to an age where, you simply don't dream anymore. And if that happens, you're stuck wherever you are for the rest of your life, with nothing more than what you achieved back when you -were- a dreamer.

i'm not entirely sure what you mean by "living in", but if it means that you often tune out to make up stories there, then i guess i live in another world... when i was younger it was one i made up that had lots of elements of other places, and more recently pokemon or warriors =P

I don't see anything wrong with it- everyone sees the world differently anyway. My mum's always telling me to 'get with the real world' but I don't think there's anything wrong with living in a fantasy one as long as it doesn't impact on anyone else. I'm obsessed with fairy tales and Harry Potter and that doesn't harm anyone.

I have a number of fantasy worlds I "live in" at different times. I wish you could all meet my family, as I have a loving wife and three beautiful children. However, these four people are all in my imagination, so good luck with that. I have also "lived in" foreign countries, held various very interesting jobs, flown in space ships to interesting planets, been in prison and in a mental institution for the criminally insane, and lots of other fantasies. I have also learned to turn these fantasies on and off at will so they don't interfere with my daily life, which has been very handy for me. It took me quite a while to learn how to do this, mind you. I got the idea for turning my fantasies on and off by watching the Star Trek episodes that had holodeck scenes in them. "What a great idea," I told my wife when I thought about it. She wasn't very pleased with the idea at first, but she was okay with it after I reassured her I would return to her at the exact moment I left her. Now she hardly notices when I'm gone.

I also thoroughly enjoy role playing games on a computer or video game system, especially massively multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPGs). My current favorite MMORPG is World of Warcraft. I find it very enjoyable to "live in" a fantasy world of dwarves, gnomes, orcs, trolls, giant spiders, oozes, and all sorts of other strange creatures. My ten-year-old daughter loves the game too, and she now plays it more than I do. She is from a different fantasy from my family of five, in which I am a single father, she is my only child, and in reality I am playing the game. But that's another story. :) - LJS

There's nothing fantastic about wanting to become a veterinarian. If you can get the money, there's no reason you couldn't do it. You wouldn't even have to deal with people much. So go for it.

You can do it! :D People used to say things to make me think I wasn't smart enough to finish what I'm studying. Now I don't bother talking to them. If I'd say that I was doing well then their eyes would look jealous and they'd formulate an innuendo to make me think what I'm studying is a waste of time anyway.

You can do it. Be prepared to work yourself to insanity though. I'm not sure where you're from, but in the U.S. the requirements are among the most extensive out there.

I live in many worlds: The Whoniverse, planet earth 1 year in the future and also another planet called Sarva, backstage with my favourite bands and in Space. Those are all things I daydream about.
I want to become a stage light operator but that doesn't seem to be happening or taken seriously, so I guess that'll be my fantasy.

There is no fantasy in this. Thousands of people a year become veterinarians. Why would there be any reason that you couldn't?
