I have a number of fantasy worlds I "live in" at different times. I wish you could all meet my family, as I have a loving wife and three beautiful children. However, these four people are all in my imagination, so good luck with that. I have also "lived in" foreign countries, held various very interesting jobs, flown in space ships to interesting planets, been in prison and in a mental institution for the criminally insane, and lots of other fantasies. I have also learned to turn these fantasies on and off at will so they don't interfere with my daily life, which has been very handy for me. It took me quite a while to learn how to do this, mind you. I got the idea for turning my fantasies on and off by watching the Star Trek episodes that had holodeck scenes in them. "What a great idea," I told my wife when I thought about it. She wasn't very pleased with the idea at first, but she was okay with it after I reassured her I would return to her at the exact moment I left her. Now she hardly notices when I'm gone.
I also thoroughly enjoy role playing games on a computer or video game system, especially massively multiplayer online role playing games (MMORPGs). My current favorite MMORPG is World of Warcraft. I find it very enjoyable to "live in" a fantasy world of dwarves, gnomes, orcs, trolls, giant spiders, oozes, and all sorts of other strange creatures. My ten-year-old daughter loves the game too, and she now plays it more than I do. She is from a different fantasy from my family of five, in which I am a single father, she is my only child, and in reality I am playing the game. But that's another story. - LJS
